Gail was being very careful to keep some distance between herself and Mack. There was the table full of cute little sleepers, for starters, plus and increasing number of steps, but ultimately Gail decided that she might have done better to stay nearer to her table so that she could run around it when Mack charged her. Of course, Mack's big stomach was quite the obstacle as it was, but since it was attached to Mack it wasn't quite that Gail needed.

The insults that Mack came up with were so much an imitation of what Gail had just said first, that Gail actually laughed aloud. Granted, it was a sarcastic, angry sort of laugh, but she was far from cut to the quick over it. She imagined that a fair few of the boys she knew would happily pay HER to fool around for a while - a situation she would never so much as consider, but far cry from what Mack suggested all the same.

As Mack had marched over and shoved her, Gail had pulled out her wand, holding it close to her body and now she stood nearly nose to nose with Mack. The tip of her wand was pressed hard and menacing into the front of Mack's belly.

"Don't think I won't do it," Gail hissed. "Get away from me . . . NOW."

The best things in life are free. The second best are very expensive.
