When her wand came out he was so into his tirade he didn't even see it. It wasn't until his mouth was still moving but he couldn't hear himself that he realized what she had done. That only made him try to yell all the louder, his face a brilliant tomato red and his glower as dark as he could make it.
"If you wake up that baby, you'll have him for the next two hours all by your pretty little self, because that it long I am off baby duty right now. Do you hear me?"
His mouth snapped shut, though he continued to glower at her. It wasn't fair for her to pull out the baby card to get her way and she knew it! But he still shut up. When she released the hex, he still couldn't stop himself from a few snarled - if nearly whispered - curses.
Storming over to the bag she pointed at, he jerked it open and found his trunks. "Thanks," he grumbled, still unwilling to admit that he'd over-reacted. Tugging off his shirt, he let it drop to the floor as he kicked off his shoes. He knew better, of course, but if she wasn't going to let him yell, he'd get out his frustration (and embarassment, frankly) in other ways. Once stripped down, he pulled on the trunks and left the bedroom annex.
He made it out of the tent and then stood there, staring at the water and feeling his unreasonable anger curling around his heart. He wanted to go back in and apologize, but he couldn't put down his pride to do so. Instead, he stood there, undecided, wondering just what the next step was.
