It was too late. He was already thinking about it. Trent grit his teeth together and reminded himself that he wasn't aiming to be a professional player or anything, so it didn't really matter. He just wanted to play for the team, that was it. Nothing as glorifying  or horrifying or embarrasing as him trying to be a professional player. There was no point in pretending that he was interested, let alone good enough to venture into that kind of territory.

Trent grinned and nodded at Dakota's next statement. "Too bad they couldn't do better." Did affect his decision - a decision that he had only been playing around with until now - he still wanted to be on the team. Maybe they would do better if he and Dakota were on the team - fresh players.

" Well you already have your brothers for practice avoiding bludgers. "

"Unfortunately," Trent muttered.Sliding down the wall, Trent took a seat, drawing a leg up and locking his hands around the knee. He gave Dakota a weak smile. Right, practice. If that's what you could call it. It was do or die at his house. His brothers showed no mercy with him, so he had no choice but to avoid the bludgers. But it was good practice, he couldn't deny that. Dakota had a point, though, especialy with his follow up comment. "True. No one would suspect us." It wasn't widely known at all that the two were even interested in the sport...well besides the normal amount that boys their age were. Trent had no idea that Dakota was interested, he still couldn't really figure out if Dakota was actually going to try out.

" Plus as seeker maneuvering and speed is key so practicing could really be racing around the grounds on various school brooms. That was one of my mothers secrets to practice on different brooms so you can handle anything. Plus it forces good flying technique. "

Sliding down the wall, Trent took a seat, drawing a leg up and locking his hands around his knee. "Good point. I'll have to try that sometime...once exams are over, of course." Trent cocked his head to the side. "I wonder if my father would buy me a new broom if I made the team...I mean, it's not like we can't afford it," he laughed a bit. "Maybe he can get me two brooms: one for home and one for here." He kind of liked that idea. A brand new, shinny broom to show off. Though he was dreaming of the possible good attention he would get, he was still focusing hard on the advice his...friend? was giving him.

"Tryouts are in months plenty of time to think. Avoiding bludgers takes the same agility and speed that catching the snitch does. Just one your going away from and is easier to see."

"Well, it's a good thing I have good eye sight," Trent laughed, shaking his head. Seeker would be a hard, pressure-filled position. But he felt that he would be best at it. He had the concentration and determination that was needed. And he felt that he was pretty patient, but the working under pressure - or the lack of confidence - might be a problem. Trent tried to ignore such negative thoughts...for the moment.

"They enjoy arguing with you a bit. So you can always bait them into it. Say they cant catch you or that they will miss aiming at you. Though be careful with the second one."

He raised a brow. "You're saying I should get my brothers mad at me so they'll want to try and kill me?" He thought about it for a second before shrugging. "I suppose that would work...would give me the right initiative.
