As he watched Trent slide down the walls he held in a smile. At least he would not likely be losing his binoculars today. As if his friend had noticed them unless he could manage to claim them first he would have likely lost them. Talking to Trent looking down at the boy would have been awkward so with one last look towards the pitch he sat on the floor.

He was happy he managed to convince Trent that no one would suspect them. Even further he figured Trent had only a slight chance of suspecting his own intentions when it came to quidditch. Of course he had every intention of mentioning it to his friend over the summer. However school was still in session and he did not want to risk others figuring out his intentions as surprise would probably lead him to making the team just as much as his own skill.

"Good point. I'll have to try that sometime...once exams are over, of course."

Dakota said " Best to forget about them too. " As exams were always an awkward affair in his opinion. Studying just enough to do as he intended, and being carefully to arrange his answers in a way that did not make him seem stupid while at the same making him not seem to intelligent. A careful dance of answers that by his fourth year made even him unsure of his own intelligence, adding a layer of complexity to the whole routine.

He leaned back against the stone wall behind him. Unlike some of his housemates there was not an unlimited supply of money at home. Making things like this rather awkward as he knew it was best to pretend that there would be some chance he could get whatever he wanted. When in fact he was rather sure unless he actually needed it he would not be getting it. Though when it came to brooms there was a slight chance as his mother had a nice collection of them. A collection in which some of the old ones she was given back twenty years ago were probably just as good as some of the average ones made now.

Dakota said " If you get two you should probably bring them both here just incase. As there isn't much worse than using a school broom. " Words spoken from experience of his own as he had infect used school brooms on many occasions. Especially in his first year, as like most he had no excuse not to have one.

He joined Trent in laughing as he said " Definitely good. Someone usually has to point out where the snitch is when I am watching games. " As if he was not going to admit he was planning on trying out for the team he figured he should at least mention there was little chance of him ever playing seeker. Well, unless he wore googles that helped his vision a bit. Not that he was going to admit that in front of a doctor or a healer as he wanted nothing to do with wearing glasses.

"I suppose that would work...would give me the right initiative."

Dakota said " Plus it would be great practice. As at tryouts you have to assume if anyone else tries out for seeker there is a chance they have bribed the beaters to knock you out of the competition. " He gulped knowing he had said to much. Naturally he was rather sure that in Hogwarts quidditch there was little chance of that. Except for the fact he was dealing with Slytherin house which made it all to great of a possibility. Trying to back pedal his statement slightly he continued " Though most of our housemates probably think to highly of themselves to think of that. "

After a bit of a pause he said " Might be good to have a house elf watching the game to tattle to your parents if you get injured. Always a good insurance policy if things get out of hand." As that was exactly what he did with his own cousins and in turn some of them did the same thing to him. Either that or the adults had the house elves babysit them. It was a fine line he was always rather unsure of.

off-hand answers are often rather deceiving.
as there is usually a reason they were not washed away
