JT Rainey Auror Field AgentGonna Need an Ambulance and a Coroner Henrietta Blythe Waitress at Bob's CafeLike a Bird in FlightNoam KavanaghSquandered my ResistanceRoman Dolohov Original Sinner
After Jack’s forced vacation he was ready to get back to his work and he had initially been disappointed since he had been sent out looking for dark artifacts as evidence in a case that wasn’t even his and to interview Muggles who had hardly any relevance to any case. He knew that before he took those three days off he was behaving slightly irrationally and that his boss was concerned about him (not that the wizard would say as much but he intuited the fact). Now that he was back on the job he was feeling…refreshed and perhaps a little less angry. He figured that if he got put on probation again he’d be answering to someone other than his boss and he didn’t want it to come to that. JT was a man who did what he felt was right and sometimes he had to act outside the parameters of his job description to do it. Never, since he’d started his Auror training had he put away or killed anyone who didn’t deserve it, or so he figured and since he had yet to answer for any of his actions his assessment was probably correct. But he had to agree that his vacation had done him some good.
Being Muggleborn, JT preferred Muggle transportation since it gave him a sense of home and a sense of his surroundings better than apparating to and fro. He liked to take walks around the city and ride in a taxi every now and then, but today he had to put himself in the right frame of mind to do what he had to and he knew he wouldn’t enjoy a walk anyways. He waited until around six o’clock in the evening to leave the office and once out of the Ministry he apparated to the Brass Lantern Flats that was near one of his favorite pubs. Whenever he went to go meet up with old friends who lived in nicer places than him he always felt a tad envious. He liked his flat since it was very him, very simple and he didn’t spend much time in it, but nicer flats reminded him of the life he had just a few years before. But he wasn’t going to get choked up about it especially when he had other things to worry about. Karina Rheese wasn’t exactly his best friend but they had worked together and he had admired her maybe enough to call them friends. He doubted that as an Auror working for the Ministry he was going to be the person she wanted to see that day but he was hoping it wouldn’t end as badly as it could.
He made his way up the stairs, making sure his wand was in the back waistband of his denims, covered by his black sport coat. She was a werewolf and even if it wasn't a full moon, he was an Auror he wasn’t going to be anything but prepared. He approached her door and moved to knock on it but then stepped back. Karina might’ve been a werewolf but that didn’t mean she wasn’t attractive which is why he held himself back to straighten his thin black tie and adjust the collar of his gray plaid shirt. Acting quickly so that he wouldn’t have enough time to smack himself upside the head for caring what he looked like, he knocked on the door.
"I'm not coming out, Leath. I told you that last week and the week before."
He smirked, glad she hadn’t thrown something at the door instead.
“It ain’t Leathan, Miss Rheese,” he winced, realizing taking a friendlier approach would be better. “Karina, it’s JT…Jack Rainey. Can I take up a few minutes of your time just to ask you a couple questions?” He waited for the thing to be thrown at the door now.
