He stumbled back a half step, his own attempt at blocking the spell less than perfect. But this time he was able to shake off the effect rather quickly, and he had his wand up and ready much quicker than the last run. Taking a quick step to his right to regain his balance, he shot off his next spell, this time deciding that Burke needed a taste of his own medicine.

"Confundo!" he shouted out, a touch of pure anger and adrenaline touching the word. Though he wouldn't have admitted it, the anger wasn't nearly as directed towards the wizard across from him as it was directed at himself. Since he'd first learned - along with the rest of the bloody universe - that his second cousin was one of the foul Death Eaters, he'd imagined just how he'd face down those responsible if he had a chance. Not in any of those had he been less than perfect with his spellwork; he nearly dropped a few curses after his incantation.
