It was a small group that gathered, but then Elliot wasn't terribly surprised. A Ravenclaw's natural penchant to lock themselves into their own interests to the exclusion of nearly everything else was something which couldn't entirely be helped. He greeted Anaphora with a nod, her family name well enough known that he wasn't unfamiliar with her own name - or her family's own unfairly sullied name. A few other Ravenclaws joined in before his best mate deigned to leave his homework behind and Elliot gave his fellow teammate a nod.

A few more stragglers came over, though he was sure that a few were there merely for curiosity's sake. As much as Elliot was a Haddock and had been born and bred with an innate love of being in the center of things, he wasn't terribly confident of just what he was about to open up at this moment, but if he didn't, who would?

"I'm not sure who else might come," he started, giving the small group - nine in all - a look over, "but we'll get started. This is a sticky subject," he added. "Look, we all know what the war was all about and even if You-Know-Who is dead or gone or whatever, it doesn't mean that the Ministry can stop his followers from continuing to cause problems. I was never a big supporter of the Aurors and Hit Wizards wandering about the school during the war, but now that they are gone, it puts us into danger. If you've been keeping up with reading the Prophet, you know there are stories, everyday, about this family or that individual claiming they weren't really a follower; that they were nothing more than a puppet under the Imperio curse. I think, in some cases, it might be true, but in general? In general, I think it's a bit over the mark.

"So what do you all say? Are we safe now that the Ministry deems we are? Is the threat really gone just because You-Know-Who seems to be dead?"

He nearly bit his tongue to keep himself from saying more. The students he faced were a smart bunch and he was quite interested in hearing their own views on things.
