Gabriel winced, knowing that Jack was in pain. He hate having a patient in pain but the wound needed to be cleaned. Otherwise bacteria would get in it. An infection would happen. That was the last thing that Jack needed. So Gabriel had to get started before he had even given Jack his potion.

"No more than usual," Gabriel muttered, filing that information away. He would have to remember to put it in his notes. He was constantly reading his notes on Jack's condition. They had tried several things so far, but nothing kept the wound closed. He would keep trying of course. Until then Jack would just have to keep coming in and Gabriel would keep healing him as best he could.

When the potion was handed over, Gabriel grabbed his notes and started writing more to them. He looked over the clip board and watched Jack drinking the numbing potion. "Drink it all," he said, "or it won't work." At least he was drinking it though. Some people were so difficult, it took Gabby all of his patience not to get upset with them. He never did, but it was hard.

“How do I know what you just gave me won’t turn me into a newt?”

"I guess you'll just have to trust me," Gabriel said looking over at the other man as he laid down. Most people trusted healers but that didn't mean that they liked them. They were the ones, after all, that shoved potions done their patients throats.

“Or perhaps cause my leg to just fall off? You’d like that wouldn’t you, ya’ Quack…”

"Well, that woul make my job a lot easier than, now wouldn't it?" Gabriel raised a brow and then started to grab several of the other potions. "Now, is it numb enough? I'm going to start doing a deep cleaning and then I'll get to closing the wound.”

When he got the go ahead, he first took one of the potions and tipped it onto a cotton ball. First he started with the outside of the wound and then gently rubbed the inside. “This will bring the swelling and inflammation down.”

After that was finished, Gabriel grabbed a different potion and tipped it into the wound. It sizzled and smoked a bit. “And this will help fight off any infection.” Of course he knew all of this, but Gabriel still liked to explain everything so his patient knew exactly what was being done to him.

He glanced up. “Are you sure this doesn’t hurt?” He didn’t really think that Jack would tell him if it did. “It should only be stinging a little. Once the smoking stops, then I’ll be able to close it up.”
