Laughing was always a good sign. Sometimes Gabby liked helping aurors and sometimes he didn't. More often then not they were difficult, thinking they knew everything. Sometimes, they liked to act tough. And other times they were compliant and just let Gabriel do what he needed to do. Jack, Gabby thought, was difficult in the beginning, but now they both seemed to be more or less on the the same page.

At a few choice words from Jack as Gabby worked on him, Gabriel looked up. "Are you sure it's numb enough?" he asked, not really buying that it was. Numb was different than stinging. Stinging was a lot better than all out pain, pain that Jack would be feeling if he hadn't taken the potion. "Here," Gabriel said for a moment as he waited for the swelling to start going down. He handed Jack another potion. "This will also help against infection....drink it all," he warned again. He knew it tasted awful, but an awful taste was better than an infection.

While Jack drank. Gabriel took another potion, put it on a que-tip and started rubbing it along the more swollen sides. “Any word on your brother?”  Gabriel paused in his cleaning but only for a second. He kept his eyes down as he worked. "None," he said quietly before looking up and making the que-tip and cotton balls vanish with his wand. "But no news is good news, right?" he asked, forcing a tight smile onto his face.

He eyed the smoking leg, though most of the smoke was gone now. "Should be ready for me to close up in a few minutes," he said, just as quiet as before.
