What he didn't like was that it sounded like she had been planning this for a while. Kaleb couldn't help but wonder if she had already started teaching. Everything seemed to be thought out carefully that he wouldn't be surprised if she had and she had just now decided to tell him. It made him grip his drink harder, almost to the point where he broke the container that it was in. This was not what he wanted and he knew that Espa knew that. Yet she still defied him because yes, even suggesting this was defying him. She was an idiot, that was what she was.

His jaw tightened at the thought of her teaching muggle children. Hell no. He didn't even want her teaching pureblood children let alone the children of scum. Kaleb's eyes darkened and he started to simply shake his head in disbelief. Did she really think that she would be able to convince him that this was okay? For a pureblood mother? Not at all. Muggle "And what about Grace? Huh? You're supposed to be her mother not some damn college student," he told her gruffly.

Kaleb shook his head hard one more time. "I know of another idea: You stay at home and be the wife and mother that you're supposed to be. The answer is no. I absolutely refuse to let you work. No pureblood woman is supposed to work, not now, not ever. End of discussion," he told her, smiling when the restaurants manager came to see how they were doing ."Everything will be perfect when our food arrives," he said with a smile. The manager nodded, smiled, and then left them alone. Kaleb ignored Espa for the moment and took a large gulp of his drink instead of speaking with her.
