He could not believe that he was listening to the ideas that Sioni was throwing at him. He was fairly sure that over his last few years of playing Quidditch he’d not had to bone up on his ‘Marco Polo’ skills, but it seemed there was a first for everything. Shane raised an eyebrow when his captain suggested that he start yelling sound effects in order to guide their side when he had the quaffle, at first he’d frowned, drawing his broom across his shoulders to rest his wrists over them, but then the more he heard Sioni repeat himself and make the noises himself it drew a wide smile from the chaser. He’d have to remember that when he was going to be yelling these random noises that Sioni or Lindsey would be sending bludgers at him, so not only was he going to be swimming in pea soup but he was going to have to try and keep the Gryffindors on his right whenever possible…which should be too hard since they’d be anticipating that he’d have the ball in his dominant hand.
“Yeah…I understand.” Shane started slowly, “Ting-a-ling, ding-dong or clang. Should be able to remember at least that second one.” He smirked since Sioni had given him the nickname. “I’ll try to keep um’ on the right then, but for Merlin’s sake if you send a bludger across my broom handle try not to make it too close, I’m more afraid of getting hit by Lindsay than Pete.” He winked over at the beater before turning to Shay when she slid up to his side.
"This is going to be bloody impossible, I won't be able to see the snitch OR a bludger,"
“Don’t worry about it Shay. You’ll get your chance; just keep your eyes peeled, yeah? No one is expecting a miracle out there, but if you could pull one out of your pocket, I’d be much obliged, at least you aren’t yelling ‘Ting-a-ling’ every time you get the quaffle. I think Sioni still might be sore over practice, because the Gryffindors are bound to figure that out and no one is going to be able to find my poor body when it hits the pitch.” Shane grinned, before he sauntered back to where Sioni hand directed him, and laughingly yelled with his hand around his lips.
"Ting-A-Ling, Lindsay!"
