Shane was used to T.J’s…sweet but fuzzy personal quirks. He’d given her a smile when she responded to Sioni’s remarks about the fog, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to answer her as she whispered to him, it was that…he didn’t think answering would do him, or TJ any good.

But where the blond was talking about this and that, he tried to move her to his side. The chasers had a special sort of bond, Sioni may consider the beaters the protectors of the team, when they were all up on their brooms it would be the other chaser’s elbows that were going to fly to protect each other close up. And at the point where the fog was at, they were going to have to be closer than ever to even pass the quaffle. Close quarters would be good in some respects…for the beaters. Not so swell for the chasers, they were going to be moving the quaffle at a crawl, even without T.J musing that they should have been practicing with their eyes closed in order to prepare for this match, Shane knew that they should have put in more time...

Though he’d been instructed to yell some sound effects at Lindsay, Shane settled his broom on the ground to loop an arm around his other teammate trying to gain her attention.

“That just doesn’t feel right, how about you be Ting-A-Ling out there? It fits you.” The boy laughed as she shifted about on her feet.

“I think I’ve cornered Ding-Dong on the pitch and Clang…well…at least we’ll know has the quaffle and where we should be looking to receive it from, right?” He looked at her to see if she was paying attention…he hoped she was.

“T.J…Ting-A-Ling.” He repeated, just in case.

"I think Pete hits harder than Lindsay, she's much more accurate. And she's prettier. I like her hair. Pete has weird ears."

Shane snorted and shook his head.

“Naw, Pete is nothing to worry about. His girlfriend has him beat in all those things…except the ears, you’re right. I never thought about it, but he does have weird ears.”

Not exactly how Shane liked to begin a match, usually he wouldn't be this jovial but Sioni's noise making relaxed the boy and T.J seemed to bring out the vague in everyone. He looked back over his shoulder at Shay with a grin. No practice could have prepared them for this mess.
