“You want to discuss ‘rude’?” How about poking someone incessantly and trying to read their private papers? Is there something you want?”

"Ooo, it's private? Much be interesting then," she told him with a grin before shrugging. "I'm bored. They keepus lockedinhere like animals way toosoon." She didn't understand why curfew had to be so early. They were perfectly safe to wander the halls at this hour, especially with the war now being over. At home she was free to roam around as she liked and nothing ever happened there, so why should the castle be any different? It was like the professors didn't trust them or something.

Nigel kept insisting it wasn't a love note but Amber wasn't sure she believed him. Why else would he be trying to keep it from her. When he said that it was homework, she looked down at it skeptically. "Then why are you tryingtokeep it from me?" Her eyes widened. "YouthinkI am tryingto copy it? I don'tneed to do that. I'mnot Stupid!" Amber glared at him for his insinuation.

Then he decided to give her a bit of a look. She looked down at what he wrote, excited, but then her bright eyes and grin did a u-turn and turned into a scowl. She glanced up at Nigel, not sure how she wanted to react at the moment for what he had written and then shown her. She crushed the piece of parchment in her hands. Well, if he thought that that was going to keep her from bothering him, he had another thing coming.

“If you want to keep that finger,” he said calmly, “I suggest you pull it back.”

"What are you going to do? Write me another note telling me to shut up?" she asked him, throwing the balled piece of parchment at his head. "You have major personality flaws, you know that?"
