Summary 2 of 3

Torches were lit while the teams bustled themselves into the locker rooms for food and stretching and, by the time they were being called back out, the fog had begun to grow less thick. Not much, but enough that the shadows of fliers had become far more distinct and visibility had improved to nearly half the pitch. That most of the teams at the school were quite adept at praciticing to the flicker of torches made the conditions less difficult in general and, when Hooch's whistle blew to indicate the restart of the match, the fliers were in much improved moods, the Quaffle being picked up almost immeadiately by Bell, Scott and Westbrook flanking the older boy as they made their way down the pitch.

The attempt on goal was fast and furious and though Maculric dove fast, the Quaffle flew right past him and into the center hoop. Diving fast, he snatched it up quickly, passing it off to Grimm who passed it to Vennegoor of Hesselink to Warwick and back again. With the lifting fog, the three chasers were able to keep the passing going and Watkins blocked the first Bludger that Rhys ap Emerys shot their way.

And so it went, back and forth, the Chasers and Beaters at times far more in their element and the crowd far more able to see the action as first one side and then the other managed a goal. The game play had sped up to a much faster degree than it had been during the last segment and, within a half hour, the score stood at Gryffindor 160-150 Hufflepuff

The crowd, being able to see, was far more into the cheering and the chants flew nearly as fast as the fliers sped about the pitch. And then, for the first time in the match, Dunway dove and the Hufflepuffs started to cheer loudly; their Seeker was on the Snitch! Dunway twisted and turned, the golden ball just hovering ahead of her and M. Skrumpkin racing across the pitch when a Bludger, hit by Hall, nicked the tail of Dunway's broom. She tried to keep herself on the Snitch, but it nudged her just enough that she rammed into M. Skrumpkin and the two Seekers worked to right themselves, the Snitch being lost next.

By the time the two Seekers were again on the hunt, Hufflepuff had managed another two goals, pulling ahead of Gryffindor by a goal and the Hufflepuff stands were erupting with cheers while the Gryffindor stands were screaming encouragements to their own side. The battle of the Bludgers started next, a fast paced, non-stop battle between the Beaters, the Chasers and Seekers doing their best to keep themsleves from getting hit as they traded the Quaffle from side to side and Chaser to Chaser. Even with the ensuing chaos, goals were being attempted and then a Bludger made a hard hit to the side of Bell's head and the Chaser was falling to the pitch floor just as Gryffindor made another goal taking the score to Gryffindor 200-180 Hufflepuff.

Rhys ap Emreys called a timeout and joined the rest of his team on the pitch floor just as Pomfrey came up and, shaking her head, she used her wand to float the Bell lad up and out of the pitch, Hooch blowing her whistle to call the fliers back into play.

With Hufflepuff's most experienced Chaser down, Gryffindor began to take complete control of the Quaffle and, within the hour, Gryffindor had pulled ahead bringing the score to Gryffindor 250-180 Hufflepuff.
