Once they were back out on the pitch, Shanley forgot about Shane and Lindsay and got right back into the game. She was focused now. More so than before. They had to win. She was not going to have another loss under her belt. They were the defending champions, damn it! This was not how defending champions played! Okay, so it was. They were still having a good game, it was just that Gryffindor was having a better one.

At least the fog had thinned out. Not much, but it was enough that Shanley felt that she actually had a prayer in finding the snitch. She kept her eyes about, looking for any flash of color through the veiled sky. Their team was inching up on points now, and there, Shanley saw a glimmer of something! She dove for it, going after the snitch like it was the last thing she would ever do. She tried to get the other seeker away. This snitch was hers! And they were a bludgers. The two seekers got sucked into each other and Shanley clung on desperately as she tried to straighten herself out. All while she was spinning and jarred and sore, the whole time she tried her best to see the snitch but it was already gone.

When she got herself straight again, she slammed her fist down onto her broom handle, ignoring the pain it caused and growled. "Fuck," she let out, already searching again for the snitch. She had been so close! The next time she got a chance to breathe was a time out. It was for an injured player on her side...Shane. Her heart plummeted. "Shane!" she shouted when she landed, giving him a shake, but he was being taken away now and they were being forced to go up into the air. "Score some damn points!" she growled at the other chasers as she flew past them once the match resumed. They were out Shane, and they could still not see very well. They needed some points now. They really did.
