He wasn't late on purpose, but then he had also not intended to be early, so being just a couple of minutes late was actually being on time for Connor. He'd debated just exactly what it was he planned to do, but the thing was, he didn't really have any sort of actual plan, at least not beyond being able to see Gloria.

Alone.

Somehow he'd really gotten off on the wrong foot with her and he couldn't even begin to really get why. Oh, he'd been given a litany of reasons from the girl himself and a few of the other girls in their year, but those were all a bunch of silliness. He liked her and she was just the right sort to like him back. She just needed to see that.

Getting her alone and away from her friends where she wouldn't feel some silly need to pretend she didn't like him back would help. Of that he felt confident. It had taken him some effort to shake his friends, but he'd managed just that. Raking a hand through his hair, he came into the trophy room from the opposite side of which Gloria stood unaware that she and her friend were there already.

Reaching the center of the room, he debated on hiding until she came but then she might accuse him of something stupid like trying to ambush her. He rather wished, as he came to a halt, that he'd brought something like a flower, but he wasn't entirely sure just how he'd explain such a thing if someone had seen him prancing down the corridors holding it. So, instead, he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans and dug his toe at the ground waiting for Gloria to appear, completely unaware that he was blocking off Lisette's path to Gloria.
