Alexander was deciding on if he wanted to be alone to think things through or if he needed to be around people. He wasn't sure what would come of thinking things through. Either he would convince himself that this could work out, that he could come up with a way to keep Sabrina without losing his family, or he would talk himself out of it. Alexander did not know what he wanted. He had no idea. He wanted his family to be happy but he wanted Sabrina as well. Think about it, or not think about it?

These were the thoughts that were patrolling Alexander's mind as he headed back to the castle. What he needed was to just be around Gregory. Gregory, despite his obnoxious tendency to be calm when Alexander needed him to be riled up, was still the calming balm that Alexander needed when he wanted to be calm but couldn't. He seemed to be able to just focus better when around Gregory. Besides, he would distract him from his conundrum...or make things worse. Either way, it didn't matter. He would go and look for Gregory. It was hard to imagine Gregory, though, changing his hopeful mood when he could still feel the taste of Sabrina on his lips, having left her knowing that she took him part and parcel.

There weren't too many people heading back to the castle. At least there weren't really many around him. Which he didn't mind. Alexander was a social being. He loved being around others, he loved parties, and he especially loved planning them. But he also didn't mind being alone once in a while, if only for a little while. The walk to the castle wasn't too long, but it couldn't be considered short either. Either way, it didn't bother him today, even if he was looking to go and find his brother.

“All by your lonesome, Holcombe?”

His initial instinct was to scowl. Which he did. Because she couldn't see him. She was behind him. Alexander really didn't want to talk to Henri right now. It wasn't that he didn't like her. He did. But sometimes she was just too much. He didn't really think her, at times, the greatest asset to their family but she did have potential. He remembered that every time he had to converse with her. Just because he didn't want to talk to her now, though, didn't mean that he wouldn't. He glanced behind him at her and then returned to staring ahead. Normally he would have slowed for her so that they could walk side-by-side but he wasn't feeling that courteous at the moment. "Hello, Miss Blythe," he said so that you could hear the smile in his voice even if it wasn't there. "And yes, it would appear that I am by myself. You are very observant." Alexander glanced behind his shoulder at her again and then once more turned to face forward again. "But Holcombe, is it? Come, Miss Blythe, we are to be family." He smirked at that. "It's Alexander." If she wasn't going to call him Alexander, she could call him Mister Holcombe. Simply calling him by his last name meant they were either too familiar or disliked each other. And he wanted no one to gather either of those impression about them. "Which reminds me: I see that you're 'all by your lonesome' as well. Tell me, where is my dear youngest brother? Haven't lost him have you?"
