She didn't hit him and that, as far as Todd was concerned, meant that he'd not entirely screwed up. It didn't mean he had sailed through perfectly, either, but then that was because he never sailed through perfectly when it came to Anna. That she grabbed his arm and tugged him to follow meant he had been given permission to, at the least, stay with her. For now. 

"So, let's go," he said, not even sure where it was she wanted to go. "We can do something stupid, if you want. There's rumors about a manticore in the forest. Two third year boys are supposedly up in the hospital wing because of a run in with the thing and I heard that Hagrid is out there trying to round the thing up. If you want, we could go try to get a peek at it."

Of course, it wasn't likely they'd get anywhere near the forest if it were true. Manticores were more than a little dangerous; his uncle had only gone out to hunt one once and that had been enough for him. But Todd would hunt and kill one someday. It wouldn't hurt in the least to go take a peek and see if the rumors were true.
