Mary, Mary quite contrary...

The Muggle nursery rhyme played in his head as he watched her face in the mirror and he laughed when she gave her 'not a promise'. Frankly, if she had promised, he'd likely have turned and left fearing that she was planning something nefarious. Running his tongue over the front of his teeth, he shrugged.

"Eh, I figured that once this month was enough," he said as he went the other direction, wand at the ready as he peered about the corner. He saw nothing and heard nothing. Secure in that, he moved back over to Anna.

"Are you sure," he asked, "that you're not just stalling?"

He gave a smirk and then moved towards the mirror, ready to pull it open when there was a loud sound that he couldn't place somewhere above them. The next moment something gooey and rather syrupy tasting was pouring down over his head. The sound came to him then and he backed up quickly, bumping into Anna, as he tried to wipe at the syrup running down his face.

"Peeves!" he yelled, firing off a hex next.
