Anna took Todd's gesture as her cue and breezed right past him, sauntering up the corridor and around the corner, right back toward the mirror they'd left behind. She was not going to let Todd keep thinking she was some kind of chicken, like she'd actually rather have Peeves insult her than do something interesting for a change. That was a laugh. Contrary to popular belief, Anna didn't actually enjoy being driven into a fiery, impassioned rage. Even when taking wide, confident strides the mirror they'd left behind seemed to be an awfully long way away – probably because she'd been sprinting before. That gave her plenty of time to run her mouth before they returned to the original rendezvous point.

“I don't know why you think I'm such a damned baby,” she spat, turning around and walking backward so she could face him while she deigned to defend her fleeting sense of pride. “Well, I mean, I think I know why, but I thought you knew me better than that by now,” she grumbled, turning around to face forward again. Todd Maculric was the only person in the entire school who had heard the truth about Anna's struggles from Anna herself rather than reading about it in the paper. Why she'd trusted him with that knowledge she still couldn't say, but she had. Todd, of all people, should have been giving her a break today – and yet... she was glad that he wasn't. That meant there was at least one person in the school who wasn't about to start acting weird around her because she was a nutcase. After all, nothing about Anna herself had actually changed. She was as nutty as she'd ever been and, hopefully, nuttier than she'd ever be again.

Eventually they made it back to the mirror, and this time Anna didn't seem especially concerned about anyone posing as lookout. Clearly it hadn't helped during their last attempt, so doing it again was just a waste of time. “Do you want to go first or should I?” she asked him, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked to him for his opinion. “If I go first you get to stare at my ass for three hours. If you go first....” she trailed off, looking perplexed for a fraction of a second before simply muttering “...I'm going to go ahead and go first, then.” She gave one quick glance around, just in case someone was actually in the hall with them and, finding the area clear, swung the mirror open and jammed herself inside on hands and knees. “Close it behind you.”
