House: Slytherin
Year: Fourth
Wand: Aspen, 8'', Bendy with a small amount of Swishy, Dragon Heartstring
Bloodline: Halfblood.
Though if he thinks he can get away with saying he is a pureblood he may choose to do so if that is what he thinks the people asking will want to hear. However without realizing it his fashion sense, and love of football slightly advertise the fact he is familiar with the muggle world. So by his second year it was rather obvious he was a halfblooded even if it may seem more towards the pure side than the muggle side which is closer to the truth.
Birthday: April 5th
Pet/Familiar: None
He is smart enough to know he is to young to be able to pull off the cute kitten ploy. So he has chosen not to have a kitten and possibly borrow others to practice with before getting his own. After all kittens become cats to fast, and transfiguring them smaller only works for so long.
Physical Description:
He is a rather average size for his age. Average almost to the point of boringly normal. His haircut prior to attending Hogwarts was short with the occasional flip in the front. However as soon as he got his letter he started growing it out as the hairstyle he found most boring was the bowl cut. It simply made it look like one did not care about their hair and were so boring their mother placed a bowl over their head and cut. Which prior to starting at Hogwarts was exactly what he had his mother do, as his father would have found some way to make it look tousled like cowboy in a western movie.
His goal for when he started at Hogwarts was to look as boringly normal as possible so he could go unnoticed as long as possible. An appearance he has kept so far in his time at Hogwarts. Naturally this is subject to change as between his first and second years in the castle he cut his hair for the summer and used a hair potion to make it grow faster prior to term.
His choices in clothing beyond wearing his school uniform with his tie slightly loosened tend towards more plain options. However he may surprisingly wear some loud shirt when he starts to run out of clean clothes as his mother tends to pack his favorite clothes from home which are much less plain.
Personality Description:
… Observant, and a firm believer the convenient thing is sometimes the right thing to say
Due to the fact much of his life is lived in the space between the wizarding and muggle worlds he is very used to saying whatever is easiest. When he was with his mothers co-workers who looked to the ministry his favorite sports team was his mothers favorite quidditch team. Naturally when he was in the muggle world it was his mothers favorite football team. As far sports went he had little interest in them besides playing them. This tendency of choosing to say or pretend he liked what others liked has stuck with him since he was little.
In some respects it has been emphasized even more since he started at Hogwarts as being like the others made one stand out less.
… Observant, and a firm believer in keeping his mouth shut.
There were some questions that it was best not to ask. In his experience everyone had there unique question and he was rather sure he had one of his own. In the case of his mother it was asking about her family, and why his great grandparents sent him and his mother rather expensive presents on occasion. Presents that often included books on the wizarding world and how to be a proper wizard to maintain ones families reputation. In the case of his father it was asking why he kept trying to hide quikspell courses from his mother. As even though his father was a squib, and pretended to be accepting of his own fate in Dakota's opinion his actions spoke otherwise. In the case of his fathers family it was asking why they treated his father so bad as being a squib was not his fathers fault.
Everyone had there questions his was probably to the tune of asking why was he always observing people.
... Observant, and a firm believer everyone is up to something.
In his opinion having the advantage in any situation was what really mannered. Prior to Hogwarts he had gotten this advantage by managing to have enough friends and intelligence to make situations work out in his favor. Hogwarts had changed the rules of his existence as the natural social order there would likely place him at the bottom. He already knew a few children in the wizarding world through his mothers co-workers and his fathers parents. It was simple to observe most of his mothers co-workers children got teased because there parents worked in the muggle artifacts office for multiple reasons. The two he found most entertaining were peoples dislike of muggles and the simple fact that they somehow managed to gain no knowledge on muggles through their parents. It was even simpler to observe the social hierarchy that existed in the pureblood world of his fathers parents. Every thing was based on bloodlines and family reputations that his father being a squib discounted any use he could have gained from the Wiggins last name. In both cases he could easily observe that children like himself had the natural tendency to try to increase there social standing.
Unlike others, Dakota was always up to whatever he thought would give him the advantage when it mattered later.
... Observant, and a firm believer in the element of surprise.
All of his observations eventually lead to some conclusion or action on his part. In the case of his observations of the wizarding children he knew prior to Hogwarts he determined it would be best to stay in the background. As the element of surprise made it so others observations could not lead them to predicting ones actions.
Brief History:
He was not a Cowboy, nor had he ever left England.
Of course if anyone had even bothered to take a look at his first name they would have assumed differently. As where else did one hear a name such as Dakota besides a western movie, or on a map of the United States. Only one of the two he had large amounts of exposure to which was the movies. His father was simply obsessed with the movies, and that meant one thing when his mother found out she was having a child his father said the name was going to be Dakota. A name that sounded rather entertaining when attached to his fathers last name which was Wiggins.
How his parents met was a rather strange story of acquaintances and how small the world actually was. His mother was a witch who when she met his father when she played as a beater on a quidditch team. Unlike most members of the wizarding world she did not even blink when finding out his father was a squib. After all his grandfather was a mechanic who had not handled the fact that his mother was a wizard well. Either that or his grandfather had not handled the fact that his mother looked a lot like his grandmother did and was a memory of his grandmother who died when his mother was young. Naturally Dakota had no way of knowing which was the case except for the fact that his grandfather had not spoken to his mother since prior to her graduation from Hogwarts.
While his fathers family was made up of purebloods which lead to his father being tossed aside when they all realized he was a squib. Naturally as Dakota grew up he heard much complaining and sneers about this from family acquaintances in the wizarding world. Those sneers were his personal suspicion of the reason his father seemed to lose himself in the world of western movies. Sneers that got worse once his family figured out he would be following in his mothers footsteps not his fathers.
Worse to the point of when he was seven, his fathers parents had tried to kidnap him so his fathers squib tendencies would not wear off on him. This constant exposure to both worlds was odd. Especially when one of the worlds felt so disfavor-ably of his father and mothers muggle relatives that it was dangerous to bring up such subjects. Danger that thankfully had so far had not boiled over past the point of sneers and insults.
Growing up he went to muggle schools even if whenever he was talking to any pureblood member of his family the story involved his mother tutoring him. This content switching between worlds that were a contrast to each other had made Dakota used to saying was convenient. A habit he had found rather useful in his short life for making friends and allys. Things in his opinion a person could never have to many of. Especially when times got tough one needed to have enough they could figure out a way to make mistakes not trace back to them.
Unsurprisingly when he was eleven he received his letter for Hogwarts. He was excited for it as he was curious what the wizarding world was like beyond the volley of sneers from his fathers family that at times wanted to hide his existence. Then in other moments were rather proud of his existence as long as they could forget to mention where in the family he was from. Distant cousin worked, the son of his father did not. His excitement did not carry over to introducing himself to the people who would be his new classmates.
Mostly as unlike in the muggle world he knew he would be at a disadvantage. A situation he certainly did not like. Though he had a plan for his entrance to Hogwarts much like he had plans for other things in life. Stay quiet and off to the side until he could figure out the pecking order. Then work ones way up from the bottom to flip the pecking order in his favor. As he knew the first few years at Hogwarts really would not matter if he could rise to the top in his last few years.
The first step would be the sorting. Based on his readings of the houses he had little risk of begin in Ravenclaw. He was intelligent, and did decently in his primary school. However since he knew little about the wizarding world he was sure he could convince the hat away from Ravenclaw. Then there was Gryiffindor which he felt even less of a risk of being sorted in. Mostly due to his lack of bravery unless it would benefit him. So that left Hufflepuff and Slytherin which in his opinion was a coin toss of where he would end up. If he had a choice it would be Hufflepuff as he would start in a position he was familiar with. People would look down on him slightly and ignore him which would give him time to observe before attempting to jump into the fray. Though all his reasons for desiring to be in Hufflepuff would have tossed him in Slytherin so it would be tough. Not that he was overly concerned as the hat apparently listened to people during the sort and he would come up with many examples of being hard working in his head. As it would not be a lie, since he did work hard at preserving his own reputation.
His first year was spent in the shadows attending classes taking a position as far in the back as he could manage. His conversations were short to his housemates and others though he made every attempt to seem boring. However with his boringness he attempted to make sure no one felt unfavorably towards him. Which was rather hard as there was another line he did not want to cross with his actions which was the teachers pet line. Meaning that when the opportunity for a snap comment in class occurred he took it on occasion just to have people remember him as the shy troublemaker. Even if shy was not a word one would use to describe Dakota if they knew him prior to attending Hogwarts.
His first year was a good act. Like the calm before the storm. With his years following so far giving the impression that a storm would never come.

Roleplay Sample:
His eyes looked out the window from one of the various tall towers of Hogwarts towards the quidditch pitch. He was naturally curious about the game even though he had little desire to be there or to demonstrate this curiosity. So that left him trying to find a place where he could get onto the roof unnoticed with his wizarding binoculars. As he was very much interested as he was very aware that being good at quidditch could help him later make friends. Naturally due to his mother formerly being on a quidditch team he was very aware of the rules and how to properly play the game. At the same time he was also aware that he was young so observing the people around his age for there weakness could help him later when he decided to play.
Looking down out the window he noticed a ledge a few feet below that was about a foot wide. It like the rest of Hogwarts was made of stone so it would certainly hold his weight. Then he heard a noise from behind him of someone walking. Quickly he said in a whisper " Windgardum Levosia." as he held out his binoculars and used the spell to direct them to rest on the ledge. As with the steps getting closer there was no way he was getting on that ledge without being caught.
So he waited a few moments for the steps to reach him as he leaned against the wall and tucked his wand in his sleeve.
As hopefully he could get the person gone with a few predictable comments about the weather and quidditch. Maybe if it was someone he liked he would ask the customary how was the person doing. Moving slightly to be looking out the window he waited for the approaching footsteps either to disappear or approach him.
How did you hear about PI?: *shrugs*
A howler from Zoraida Wiggins to Jeremy Wiggins father.
Mr. Wiggins,A letter from Jeremy Wiggins mother to Zoraida Wiggins
I do not appreciate your conduct, actions, or language around my son Dakota. I realize that you have personal opinions and believes in regards to my husband being a squib that you feel the need to be made well known. The only thing that making them well known around my son is make him less known around you. If you are interpreting that as a sentence as a threat, understand that it is one. I am not your son. While I do enjoy watching the occasional western I will not watch them to forget things you said in an attempt to ignore you. As unlike Jeremy I could care less about you and your opinions. Opinions that would be best kept to yourself when in the presence of my son.
