The curfew had no other purpose than to lock students into their dorms or their commons that had no business to be locked in. People like Amber. With nothing to do. Oh sure, there were things she could do: Classwork for one, and sleeping for another. But it was too early to go to bed and too early to be desperate enough to actually start her homework.
It didn’t help, either, that her brother was in a different house than her. Normally he was the person she would go to for entertainment when she was forced to be in a situation such like this. Amber couldn’t even call on her boyfriend for help as he was In a different house as well. The same house as her brother! Oh! It was a conspiracy against her, that was what it was.
Amber grumbled about it and dropped into a seat by the fire. She glanced around, hating that for once she could not thing of a way to entertain herself. As her eyes bounced around the Gryffindor tower, a grin surfaced and she shot back up, heading toward one boy in particular. He looked busy enough to be the perfect candidate for what she needed. After all, it was any fun to bother a person that had the time to be bothered, now was it?
Sitting down close to Nigel, personal-bubble close, she leaned her head into his line of site so that she could have the best view of the parchment he was working on. “What are you writing? It’salove note, isn’t it?” Amber elbowed him. “Eh, eh,” she goaded. “Who’s the lucky girl?”
