Wanting Head Boy and actually getting Head Boy ended being a lot different then he had expected. Being top of the class was something his parents had pushed him for, but with all of his awkward social exchanges it was more like being Head Nerd instead of a high authoritative figure. He didn’t despise the role, hell, he had always been the Ravenclaw dork with the camera around his neck, but when he asked his Prefects to do something he expected it to be done. Instead he got a whole lot of laughing and a lot more taunting then he really wanted. He should have just stuck to his studies and graduated like a normal muggle. At least then he wouldn’t have to try and impress anyone.
Due to all the crap he had been dealing with, and with all of Derek’s advice, he had decided to pair up patrols based on the people that would least make confrontations with him. There was a good list of those that would probably not give him a hard time, a list of those that wouldn’t beat him up, so he settled on Caitlin Van Whatever Hooser Whats It…mostly because she seemed like a girl who wouldn’t try to over take him in some sick twisted mutiny. Although when she actually showed up for patrol time he definitely sized her over just to make sure he could take her down with a hex if needed.
“Hey,” he said lamely, and then nodded to the entrance doors, “Glad you got your schedule ok…we have forest patrol tonight.” He began moving towards the door without waiting for her to answer. He never had much social etiquette anyway. “Um, are you good with a wand? I mean sometimes some scary stuff pops out of the forest…I don’t want my face mauled off by werewolves if possible.” He gestured her through the door and then followed her outside. “Wait…you are Caitlin, right?” All he needed was for some Slytherin to play some sick joke and hex him outside the security of the school.
