Physical Description: Alex stands at just under 5’7”. Though generally considered not tall, he is well built spending most of his time playing quidditch.Though he usually is covered in bumps and bruises, scrapes and scars from his sport, the most noticeable of his injuries is the burn marks that cover a good portion of the right side of his torso, across his chest, and under his arm to his back, as well as along the inside of his arm. These injuries were acquired in the death eater attack that killed his sister. Though all the physical damage has healed under them, the visual reminders are still there. He frequently makes up stories about getting chased by a dragon or a shark attack or some other nonsense as he rarely feels like talking about what happened. The rest of his skin is dark tan which mostly masks the freckles that cover his nose, unless one is very close. He has a birthmark that covers his right elbow and a scar across the back of his left hand where he accidentally shot himself with a bow and arrows.
He has blonde hair that has gotten darker as he has grown up. He now keeps it mostly short, as it is it out of the way while playing quidditch. As it gets longer it begins to get more fluffy until he cuts it short again. He generally spikes it with a bit of product, though never enough to look like he really cares. His eyes are a light clear blue, generally happy in appearance, but rarely give away what he is thinking. His overall look could be described as disheveled. He may be an adult now, but the grass stains at the knees of his trousers are still a very common occurrence. When required to wear one, he still ties his ties in a knot, never bothering to tie them the proper way. He prefers to wear button down shirts, unbuttoned, over plain t-shirts with normal jeans and sneakers. He is not particularly fancy in his manner of dress. Anything nice he wears would just get ruined anyway. He keeps a hair band of Christine’s around his right wrist. It was a good luck charm he stole from her for quidditch during school. Since her death he rarely takes it off.
Personality Description:
Alex Kollmann has often been described as being a clown. He is quick to crack a joke, pull a prank, or tease anyone relentlessly when the mood strikes him. He will not feel he has made a good impression until he has made someone laugh at least once. His making jokes does not exclude those made at his expense. When he feels insecure about something, he is the first person to make fun of himself before anyone else has the chance to. He has a spontaneous nature rarely planning anything out but acting almost solely on impulse. Alex loves to be the center of attention. Occasionally he will realize he needs to share the spotlight, but not nearly as often as he should.
He is a very optimistic person, passionate and enthusiastic about almost everything he does, especially things involving quidditch. He rarely gives less than his best when he is set to a task. He tends to be an overachiever, and has become something of a perfectionist. Though he makes jokes when something goes wrong, it does bother him. He is very busy, and likes always having something on his schedule. He frequently takes on too many tasks, but he likes having various things to bounce between. He has strong vision and likes to see things go his way. He tends to be a bit stubborn about his own opinions. And does not like to be argued with once his mind is set to something.
Alex has always made friends easily, though he has many friends he only feels especially close to a few. He is sociable, affectionate, and a fairly open person. He likes to help others with their problems, but has difficulty asking for help with his own. He is generally pretty open minded and tries not to judge people. He prefers working with others as opposed to working by himself. He gets lonely if left alone too long. If left on his own for too long he will start to talk to himself. He has uncanny knack for accents and mimicking voices. Nor can he sit still for too long. He’s always been an active child, playing professional quidditch hardly makes it any better.
Brief History:
Alexander Marcus Kollmann was the second son of Katerina Kollmann nee Dowell and her husband Marcus. His older brother James was always trouble, but at least had the sense to marry a pureblood woman. He may have ended up in Azkaban for the abuse of muggles, but Katerina never let Alexander forget that he had a pureblood son, while Alexander did not. He married actress Lila Jarree Hopeten, an american muggle who had been brought from New York to London when an agent had brought her for a show. He did not tell his wife that he was a wizard right away, and managed to keep it a secret until well after their children were born. Lila left the stage and became a housewife upon learning she was pregnant the first time. Their first child was a daughter, whom they named Christine Melissa Kollmann, she was followed by a son Jordon Logon Kollmann, and Alexander Zachary Kollmann was their youngest child, born September 15th, 1964. Shortly after Alex’s birth, Alexander informed his wife that he was a wizard as Chirstine, then a toddler, was beginning to show her first signs of Magic.
The youngest of the three Kollmann children, Alex always had a knack for trouble, and a greater ability to make sure his older brother was blamed. During many of their early years the boys were constantly bickering, but as they got older they learned to deal with each other. Alex grew to count on his older brother to provide distractions and cover for him when he was up to things. Just after Alex turned four his father’s parents moved in with them to help with the raising of their children, as his grandmother believed that his parents were not doing an adequate job. His Grandmother made it very clear early on that Alex was her favorite, but Alex did not share the feelings. Every time Alex made an attempt to pull a prank on her or otherwise cause trouble his brother ended up with the blame. Though his Grandmother claimed Alex as the favorite, His grandfather made no qualms about letting Alex know that he did not feel the same.
Though his grandmother made them take more wizard appropriate lessons after school, the children all attended a muggle primary school. Alex’s grades were average, and only that because Jordon always helped him with his homework. Alex was more of a social person than he was bookish, and he was fascinated by sports. He played every sport he could and spent more time running than he did writing. His mother forbade his father from teaching him about wizarding sports until after he started Hogwarts but that did not go as planned. Just before Alex’s seventh birthday, Christine got her letter to Hogwarts, at which time Alex was introduced to the first time to two amazing wonderful things, Broomsticks and Quidditch. Alex loved brooms from the moment he saw the first magic one in Diagon Alley, He immediately began following Quidditch choosing Ballycastle as his favorite, for no particular reason really. A year later Jordon left for Hogwarts too, leaving Alex home alone. He did being to mellow out once he was the only one left and had everyone's attention all the time. But after four years of waiting, Alex got his letter as well.
He was sorted into Gryffindor house the moment the Hat touched his head. Christine was a fifth year in his house, and while it was nice at times to have a sister there, he also had to deal with her constantly writing to their parents when he caused any problems. He joined the quidditch team as a keeper originally during his second year. In his third year several important things happened. He changed quidditch positions to chaser, and he met his future best friend Sioni Rhys. During this year his grandfather was killed in the Essien Massacre, of which his younger cousin Adam was one of three survivors. Between his third and fourth years, he and Christine were involved in a death eater attack, which resulted in Christine's death and Alex’s injuries. Though he physically recovered minus a few scars, emotionally it was more difficult He still believes that Christine had foreseen him dying and decided to take the hit instead of him, as she was sitting on the wrong side of the table. Alex began to take things a bit more seriously after that. He became quidditch captain his fourth year but did not hold the title for long as his grandmother decided to pull him from Hogwarts for his own safety.
The remainder of his schooling was done via private tutors, he took both his OWL and NEWT tests at the Ministry of Magic. At seventeen he tried out for and was placed on the reserves of the Ballycastle Bats, but was promoted to starting on the team after one of the female chasers got pregnant. He has been one of the three chasers on the team every match since then. He plays quidditch for a living, has a few girlfriends, and is pretty happy with the way things are going in his life currently. He honestly cannot complain too much.
Important Relationships:
Alexander Marcus Kollmann:is an Auror for the ministry. Alex is closer to his father than him mum, but not by much. His father is too much like Jordon, and has too little sense of humor for Alex’s taste. Now that he is an adult, Alex rarely sees his father except on Holidays or if he stops to harass Jordon at work.
Lila Jarree Kollmann nee Hopeten: was a stage actress in New York, before being brought to London for a show. During the run she met and married Alexander, later quit acting all together after her children were born. Lila still gives acting, dance, and music lessons to the children in their Bristol neighborhood. Alex was far more interested in sports than in the stage, and so never was particularly close to Alex.
Christine Melissa Kollmann :The eldest of the Kollmann children, and deceased. Alex was close with his sister, her being in the same house at Hogwarts. She was a promising seer, and Alex still believes that she saw his death and took the hit for him when they were involved in a death eater attack.
Jordon Logon Kollmann: Jordon is the middle Kollmann child, formerly a Ravenclaw. He is currently following in their father’s footsteps and is an Auror for the Ministry of Magic. He is the sole guardian of their cousin Adam James Kollmann. Since Christine’s death the remaining Kollmann siblings have gotten closer, but Alex worries that Jordon blames him.
Adam James Kollmann: Kid-Cousin. Currently a fifth year Slytherin at Hogwarts. Alex likes to hang out with his cousin on breaks, the kid is nice enough. A bit odd but nice. He sort of understands Adam better being a survivor himself, but at least he was not as young as Adam when it happened.
Sioni Rhys ap Emrys: He was year behind Alex in school and the Prince of Huffelpuffs but they made friends anyway. Sioni currently beats for the Falmouth Falcons, and Alex honestly imagine’s his friend is sleeping with his partner’s wife, but he’s not really one to judge.
Jackie Jolie and Gwyneth Carter: Alex’s fellow Chasers. Both of whom he’s sleeping with. Though both girls know it, they pretend not to.
Likes: Jokes, Quidditch, Picking Fights. Almost All Girls. Peanut Butter Cookies. Poker
Dislikes: Sitting Still, Theatre, His Grandmother, Grape Jam, Daisies or Girls with the name Daisy.
