Physical Description: Honor is rather tall for a young woman, standing at 5’11. She tends to slouch a bit due to being uneasy about her height. She has a thin bone structure and looking in the mirror, she thinks that she looks like a bit like a scarecrow. She has a sharp face and a pointed chin. Her eyes are an amber brown. Her skin is usually pale from working inside all day.
Her hair is about the only part of herself that she likes. It’s dark brown in color and reaches halfway down her back. It has a nice curl to it, not too much that it’s frizzy. She will experiment with it every day, trying new hair styles. Most the time, it’s up either in braids, a bun, or a ponytail. She’s not one for makeup other than a bit of lipgloss. As long as she’s not working in her wood shop, she’ll have antique earrings or other pieces of jewelry on.
Honor usually wears very casual clothes; jeans, converse shoes, and a long sleeved shirts. She enjoys more muggle clothing then wizarding. Her mother tries rather unsuccessfully to get her in long pretty wizarding robes. When she’s working in the antique shop, she does have a wizarding robe to slip over her muggle clothing.
Personality Description: Honor is a no nonsense kind of person who values common sense. She is highly organized who puts most of her time and energy in her work. The only time that she really allows her to loosen up is in her woodworking studio, letting her creative juices flow. If she’s really working on a piece, she can keep going to the wee hours of the morning. She usually has lists around to keep her organized. On these lists she will also have doodles of possible designs for her furniture. These tend to be stuck in random places around her home and her shop, so she’s always rediscovering them just to get inspired again.
Honor is pleasant and informative with her customers at work. Her personal life is a bit more complicated. She tends to be more hesitant about getting close to new people. Meeting new people for friends is hard enough. Her dating life is nonexistent. She’s ok with that, there’s too much work to be done in the studio for a boyfriend. Besides, if she’s bored for company, there’s her family and her grandfather. Honor tends to build a wall around herself and usually resorts to sarcasm. Some people might register this as her being cold but she’s just shy. She avoids parties and large crowds. Unlike a lot of people, she doesn’t mind being alone most of the time. Honor has a tendency to jump to conclusions without hearing all the evidence. She wishes she was a little less tightly strung and more impulsive.
When she is stressed or angry, she starts to clean or organize at home or in the shop. When she’s in another location and angry, she’ll at least try to busy her hands this helps her calm down. Without doing this, her temper is strong and long lasting. She will argue for the sake of arguing if she’s thoroughly ticked off. She also has a tendency to hold grudges.
Brief History: Honor was the first daughter born to Albert and Emily Hathaway. The Hathaway house is ‘over run’ by females as Albert Hathaway likes to lament. He likes to say he’s cursed with a pack of daughters but he is very proud of his girls. Still, when Honor graduated from Hogwarts, she was more than happy to get a small flat on her own in London above the shop. At least, she wouldn’t have to fight to get into a bathroom. In a way, she does miss the chaos of her family, so she tries to spend every Sunday with them. During the summer, when her sisters are away from Hogwarts, she’ll usually let one of them crash at her place for a week at a time.
When she was in Hogwarts, she was sorted as a Ravenclaw. It was a good fit for her, she loved picking up information. She was really shy at Hogwarts, aside from a close knit group of friends, she didn’t talk much. Meeting new people, especially boys, always made her nervous. Having awful bouts of acne didn’t help matters either, that was one of the blessings of becoming an adult is the fact that her skin cleared up.
When she was a sixth year, her grandfather needed a helping hand in the shop, so he hired her. This forced her to be around people. During that summer, she also found that she had a love for antiques and his shop. She soaked up information about all the merchandise and she also found that she rather liked dealing with the old pieces of furniture. After Hogwarts, she worked full time in the shop. As the years progressed, her grandfather has given her more and more responsibility. Then last summer, Honor was handed the keys of the shop when her grandfather decided it was time to go into partial retirement (meaning, he’s retired until he gets bored then comes back to the shop only to decided he’s retired once again, thus it’s a vicious cycle)
She’s very content in her shop but she wishes she could travel. She has a map in her flat of all the places that she wants to visit. Unfortunately, traveling takes money and that is something she really doesn’t have much of it. Still, she dreams of just going off traveling on a whim but she’s far too practical for that.
1986:
As far as relationships go, she almost had one wtih Hunter Boston, but apparently he is more interested in her books than her.
During the early summer of 1986, she took in a roommate, Katherine Warwick. The girl had travel from across the pond to wed a pureblood bloke. The man abandoned her and Honor opened up her home to Kate. She's rather greatful for the company but her robes are getting a little tight with all the good food that her roommate cooks.
Her relationship with Crispin also started to grow that year. After he found her bleeding on the floor of her shop and saving her life, he kept coming around. Soon followed a round of rather diasterous dates that included burnt food, spilled coffee, broken tailbones, wedding crashers and such, they finally got together in December.
Important Relationships:
Simon Hathaway (Grandfather): Honor is closest with her grandfather, as she has worked beside him for years. To most people he’s very gruff and short. He doesn’t mind telling people what he thinks of them, at this point, he figures that he’s old enough to warrant this. He has his own sense of humor that Honor instantly gets. She respects the old man but that doesn’t prevent her from teasing him mercilessly. She’ll usually keep an out for him and drop by his flat on a friday night to have dinner and play poker.
Albert Hathaway (Father): Her father, despite having so many daughters, doesn’t quite know what to make of them. Merlin forbid any one of them talk about things like periods and such. He lets his wife handle a lot of the chaos at home while he makes a living by working for the ministry. Honor loves her dad but she is not particularly close to him.
Emily Hathaway (Mother): Honor was a responsible daughter, she never did much to give her parents need to worry. She didn’t break curfew or sass her parents. Her mother tries to put her daughter in more dresses, which doesn't work. Emily loves her daughter but wishes she had done more with her life. Honor scored excellant marks on her NEWTs and could've had her pick of well paying jobs
Temperance Hathaway: (10) Tempy is like ball of manic energy. She is the only sister that she will not let in her shop or in her workroom due to things tend to broken with youngest sister. Although Honor loves all her sisters, Temperance is the one that she has trouble relating to. Honor tends to mother her youngest sister which ticks the girl off.
Deliverance Hathaway(14): Deliverance reminds Honor most of herself. She is studious but a bit naive that makes her an easy target for her sisters teasing. Liv is also the shortest of the sisters, even Tempy has shot up past her. Honor will send interesting articles and books by owl to her little sister. She gets along really well her second to youngest sister.
Charity Hathaway(17): Charity is a free spirit with a love of boys. This sister is the one that will make their father gray early. During her summer off from Hogwarts, she’ll work in the antique shop as a clerk with Honor. For the most part, Honor gets along pretty well with her sister. She’s more likely to try to scare off boys who are loitering to flirt with Charity. She tries to give her sister advice.
Prudence Hathaway (20): The second oldest of Hathaway sisters works as a healer for St. Mungos. Pru is terribly work orientated and thinks that Honor should do more with her life. Every time she comes to pay a visit, Pru will try to give her sister advice how to generate more revenue. This usually leads to an arguement. She loves her sister, truly she does, but at times she doesn’t really like her.
Crispin Haddock: Her boyfriend despite some rather horrendous first dates. She loves his quirky humor and the fact that sometimes, he's just as akward as she is. Before him, she was very skittish around guys and even with dating Cris, she's unsure to handle herself in a relationsip.
