House: Ravenclaw
Year: 4th
Physical Description: Christy is about five feet and five inches tall. Her hair and her eyes are both light brown. Christy's hair is stick-straight, and she would probably hate it if she cared about her looks much. The same can be said for her A-cup breasts - when she actually has the time to think about them, she wishes they were bigger, but usually she's too busy reading or something.
Personality Description: The word that best describes Christy is intelligent. She loves to be intellectually stimulated, and when she is not reading she can usually be spotted talking to another Ravenclaw about politics or charms (or even Quidditch. She is an Appleby Arrows fan).
Socially, Christy is usually quiet and unobtrusive. She avoids parties and hates small talk. Although her thoughts could be described as intellectually arrogant, she tries her best to strike a balance between seeking out intellectual equals and being polite to people.
Brief History: Christy was born into a slightly distracted middle class family. Her mother Amy stays at home and her father Robert works on the Committee for Experimental Charms at the Ministry. She is an only child who had a fairly uneventful childhood. Actually, "solitary" might be a better word to describe it. As she reached the age of eleven, she spent more and more time reading in her room. She never had any playmates her age except for her cousins Mary and Stephen, whom she saw only twice a year.
The reason Christy never had any playmates her own age is because she lived in a Muggle neighborhood, and her parents forbade her to talk to Muggle children. They rationalized the forbidding as being a safeguard against leakage of the wizarding world, which is a perfectly legitimate reason, but they also were uncomfortable with their daughter fraternizing with Muggles. Both Amy and Robert (especially Robert) see Muggles as ignorant and even a little bit stupid, as if magical talent were intellect. They are not, however, prejudiced against Muggle-born wizards. Amy treats Muggle-borns with a sort of overbearing pity, assuming that every Muggle-born wizard must have had to go through terrible trials as a misunderstood child whose talents nobody could appreciate. Christy is afraid to be with her mother in the wizarding public, as she tries to turn every conversation with a Muggle-born wizard into a therapy session.
Important Relationships: Christy prefers her father's company to her mother's. Her father is a sort of absent-minded professor type, a little bit like Christy herself. He works long hours, though, so Christy spent most of her childhood at home with her mother. Christy's mother is a little bit too touchy-feely for Christy's tastes. Christy prefers her privacy; she needs space. Her mother is well-meaning, doting, and sensitive. She is much more hurt than she reveals when Christy tells her angrily to "leave me alone!" or "just give me some space!" In truth, Christy's mother gives her plenty of space, but Christy, an only child, keeps wanting more. She is not materially spoiled - at least, not overly so - but she does not like to be intruded upon. She had trouble getting used to sharing a room in her first year at Hogwarts.
Christy's father was really her first academic teacher. He taught her to read and write, and even do a little bit of math as he felt it was an important skill. Christy was always very inquisitive about the charms he was trying, and every day when he came home from work she would ask, "What did you do at work today, Daddy?" For her tenth birthday he took her to Ollivander's to buy a wand, and showed her a couple of spells, which she learned quickly. He taught her to pay attention to the etymology of incantations and the patterns of wand movements in order to figure out how spells work, and thus get ideas for devising new ones.
Strengths/Weaknesses: The word that best describes Christy is intelligent. She learns spells quickly and often grasps the theory behind them, the underlying pattern, so that she can make up her own. She's not as studious as most Ravenclaws, though that's not to say she doesn't like learning. She just doesn't like rote learning. She avoids Divination on principle, because it is "completely unscientific and utter B.S."
Likes: Reading, writing, music, Astronomy, Charms, Transfiguration, watching Quidditch.
Dislikes: Parties, Divination, Potions, playing Quidditch.
(This is a limited list, of course. I'll figure more out as I go.)

When are students allowed in Hogsmeade on this board?: On designated Hogsmeade weekends, and then only if they're in 3rd year or older and have permission slips.
Why should your character be in this house? What traits of this house do they have?: Christy's intelligence and love of learning make her a real Ravenclaw. She is rather bookwormish as well. She likes intellectual discussions and is willing to talk about almost anything, so long as it's interesting. She gets impatient when people are offended by "sensitive subjects." Christy also tries very hard to be objective about things and will rarely hold an opinion that is not backed up by reason.
PB/Avatar to be used: Not sure yet.
Roleplay Sample:
Christy yawned. "Nah. I haven't started the report yet. It's not due until Thursday." A nasty little voice in her head told her Thursday was only two days away, and that tomorrow there was a Ravenclaw Quidditch game that she wouldn't miss for the world. But she'd get the Charms assignment done sometime.
She tuned out and let herself get involved once again in her book as Miranda started muttering to herself about the Charms report. Nearby, some fifth year girls were talking about how handsome Sirius Black was. She rolled her eyes. You'd think Ravenclaws would have more sense than to get all swoony over a boy who's not even that smart, she thought. As she finished her book, she sighed. It had been a good book and she hadn't wanted it to end. She reached into her bag to get her Charms textbooks, quill, parchment and ink. It was about time she got to work.
