House: Hufflepuff
Year: 3
Physical Description: Adam is around 5' 3" tall and has a slender build. His skin tone is tan due to the Italian influence in his family. He also has dark brown hair that falls just above his shoulders which is accompanied nicely by large, child-like brown eyes. He looks very much like a kid, but at the same time, has the essence of an adult. Adam carries himself well and smiles often. He dresses in muggle clothes when he can, because he is muggleborn and is used to the casual style of clothing muggles wear.
Adam is at an awkward stage in his life where sometimes his feet seem too big and he finds himself being more clumsy than he would like to be. He experiments with different looks now and then, trying to find himself, like most young teens often do.
Personality Description: He's a nice young man, as his grandmother would put it, but sometimes he can be mouthy and stubborn. Still, he's sweet and he's clearly a lover not a fighter. Adam would rather discuss disputes than settle them with violence. He tries to be there for his friends and put them first, however, now and then human nature can cause him to be selfish. He's generally thoughtful and intelligent and has a habit of correcting people's grammar.
Adam is a big fan of rock music. He adores animals and young children. He is also very good at poker and this skill has come in handy, particularly the ability to keep a straight face and fool people. Like many people, there are some sad things in his life that influence the negative attributes of their personalities. Nothing overly dramatic has happened to Adam, but I will go into detail later about the sad concepts that he faces that many people, sadly enough, face.
Brief History: In a pleasant muggle neighborhood, Adam Demisely was born. His parents provided for him a nice house, nearly picture perfect, with a large yard and a picket fence. There was a dog in the backyard and a tire swing that hung from a large oak in front yard. Adam was an only child and still is to this day.
In the late fifties, two people shared a chance meeting. Serina Naroni, a tall, tan, brown eyed, brunette beauty was sitting in front of her father's Galato shoppe. She was eating a bowl of the Italian ice cream when Kyle Demisely, British and dark haired, showed up to sample the product of the store. He had never had Galato before, nor had he ever seen such a lovely woman. Thankfully, Serina was fluent in English as well as Italian. When Kyle inquired about the ice cream and if he could sit with her, Serina smiled and informed him that the Galato was delicious and that she would be delighted to share some with him. Kyle took a seat and the romance began from there.
It took little time before the two knew they were in love. Some two years later, Serina happily and with her father's consent went from Naroni to Demisely. She also knew that she was going to have to relocate to Britain, but she would be able to see her family any time. Of course, since both were muggles, it would have to be a little more difficult than just popping in via Apparation, but any trip to Italy was worth it.
The Demiselys found the house of their dreams, setting upon a hill in a friendly suburb. They could settle down and start a family. Adam was born. Both Demiselys wanted a boy and were very pleased. However, they would have loved a girl as well. But Adam was special, they knew. Serina always said that her son was going to be different, she could sense, but she wasn't completely sure how.
When Adam was three, he displayed a talent. Serina watched in amazement when her baby was able to turn plain milk into the chocolate milk he was fussing for moments before. When Kyle came home from work, he assured his wife that it was her imagination, she must have given him the chocolate milk and forgot about it. Later that night, however, during supper, the Demiselys watched as their toddler turned his whole meal into chocolate and other various candies. At first, they were scared but received an Owl post a day after to explain what was happening with their baby.
After the shock faded, Adam's mother and father were thrilled. When their son turned eleven, he was sent off to Hogwarts to begin his training as a wizard.
Now for the sad part. By the time Adam went off to Hogwarts, things with his parents weren't so well. Serina longed to return home, but Kyle refused to move to Italy and money was a little short for them all to just up and go on holiday. Besides that, young Adam had to start school very soon and they needed to be home.
Several nights, Serina and Kyle would end up in arguments over the situation, sparking fights over other things. Adam spent a good deal of time at friends' houses to avoid having to listen to the constant bickering. He couldn't understand how two people who used to be so in love could now be so bitter toward one another. He, like many other children, ended up blaming himself. If he hadn't had to have gone to school, they could have went to Italy to visit his other family. Of course, this was not at all his fault, but it is hard for a child to understand complicated adult situations.
Then the worst happened. His mother and father got a divorce. Adam had a choice. Did he want to go to Italy with his mother or did he want to stay in Britain with his father? In Britain, there was everything he knew, but in Italy, there was his mother and sights he had never seen before. It was a difficult choice for a child to have to make. So, after some long consideration, Adam decided this. During the summer, he would go to Italy with his mother and during school year, he would live with his father.
Adam still hopes that one day his parents will resolve their problems and get back together.
Important Relationships: Of course there is his relationship with his parents. Adam gets to visit his mother every summer with the use of a Port Key and some Floo Powder. When he visits Italy, there always seems to be something knew to do or see. Serina works a decent paying office job and now and then Adam goes to work with her. She has taught him about business mathematics and has given him a general overview of how a company works. Adam also is very close to his Grandfather Naroni, who taught him to play a good game of poker. He is also close to his Grandmother Naroni and his cousin, Marie, who was adopted by their grandparents when her mother died in a car accident and her father is off trying to find himself in God only knows where.
Back home in Britain, Adam spends a lot of time with a muggle boy named Bret. When Adam first went off to Hogwarts, Bret wanted to know why his best friend couldn't go to school with him. Adam had to explain that he goes to a very private and expensive school in Scotland and he promised to write every day, which he still does. Bret still doesn't understand why Adam's mail comes via an owl, but he accepts it and sends all his post back to Adam with the use of the owl as well.
Adam has a close relationship with his father. They live in the same large, old house Adam grew up in but they always find a way to be in the same room together at least a few times a day. Adam passed along his knowledge about the game of poker to his dad and enjoys telling his father about his wonderfully enchanting school. Some of it, Kyle has a hard time comprehending or even believing, but he must because he knows and understands that his son is a special child, a wizard, and lives a life only Kyle could dream of.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Humans are very complicated creatures, and to some, a certain strength may be considered a weakness, or vise versa. Example: To someone like Harry Potter, the ability to see past bloodlines is a strength. But to someone like Draco Malfoy, it is a weakness. I will do this in Adam's point-of-view. To him, something like seeing past bloodlines is not only a strength, but a requirement.
Adam is not your perfect student, but who is? Nor is he terrible either. However, his strength lies in Transfiguration. He is very good at turning one thing into another. When it comes to a class like Potions, on the other hand, he's not so great.
I wouldn't say that he would ever be a star Quidditch player either. He can fly alright, but not well enough to pull off the complicated moved for the game.
Adam finds strength in his kindness and ability to forgive and forget, but the fact that sometimes he blames himself for things that aren't really his fault, that can be considered a weakness, and a horrid one to boot.
But he's a talented poker player, a hard worker, and does what he can to help out loved ones.
Adam does indeed have fears: petty ones such as snakes and being outside in the dark night without a light, the Dark Forest, and don't ask him to go into the lake. He's not a big fan of large sea creatures. These fears can be considered a weakness as well as the fact that he refuses to face them.
Likes/Dislikes: Adam dislikes those who feel that pureblood only makes a true wizard. He doesn't like, as I mentioned before, snakes, darkness, and big aquatic animals. He's not a big fan of romance novels, but loves poetry and music.
Adam also likes cats, preferably kittens, young children, soccer (or known to the Brits as Football), and Pink Floyd. His favorite food is mashed potatoes. He likes coffee with heavy cream and sugar, pumpkin ice cream, and the smell of cinnamon. He's also a sucker for a cute face, but a love slave to a great personality. Sure, he's young and hasn't fallen in love yet, but a sweet girl would be all it would take.

Roleplay Sample: Adam snapped up his jacket and headed out to the lake. He would never chance a dip in it but it sure was pretty to look at from a safe distance. The weekend was drawing to an end and Sunday Dinner was an hour away. He wasn't hungry yet but might be by then. Adam thought about the happenings of the night before. He had went to Hogsmeade for the first time with a friend from the Ravenclaw house. He wasn't close to the kid, but enough to enjoy spending a little time with him.
Adam had friends but no one he could tell all his secrets to. He hoped that maybe one day he could find a girl, a nice girl with a cute face, to share these things with. But until he did, his deepest thoughts and emotions would be only his own.
The air was fresh and Adam inhaled deeply. It seemed so still until a few water insects landed on the surface of the lake and fish came from below to indulge in the stupidity of the bugs in which they needed to survive. The young Hufflepuff had a seat on the ground and leaned his back against the oak he was near. The bank was a good ten feet away and Adam watched the faded dusk moon reflect in the ripples.
The silence of nature swallowed the boy's mind for several moments until the snap of a twig pulled him from his reverie. There stood a girl, not much younger than Adam, and she smiled at him.
"Mind if I take a seat?"
"Oh, not at all." Adam replied and scooted over so she could use the tree to lean against as well.
The girl didn't bother to introduce herself but she was vaguely recognizable. A moment of quiet passed between them before a conversation began. Adam found himself content to share things with this girl he hardly knew and when they stopped talking, the girl stood up and dusted her skirt off.
"It was nice to meet you." She told him.
"Same here." He replied and looked away for a moment. Adam sighed and parted his lips for the next question. He turned his head and peered into the distance. He was about to ask her for her name when he realized that the girl was nowhere to be seen. So Adam averted his eyes to the ground and wondered if she had even been real or just a figment of his imagination.
