Art Gallery Attack
Anti-Muggle Attack at Deborah Byrne Art Gallery
By Siobhan O'Connor
In the latest in what appears to be a string of attacks, the Deborah Byrne Art Gallery was targeted in the early hours of Sunday morning by those
who the Ministry suspect are sympathetic to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Whilst no damage was done to the van Hagens family who own the gallery, nor the work
stored inside it, significant structural damage has resulted to both the gallery itself and the surrounding buildings. Whilst this is thought to have been
caused by the experimental wards Allison van Hagens had guarding her property local muggles have been told that it was a gas explosion and the street has for
the time being been evacuated.
Famous for celebrating art by both muggles and wizarding kind the gallery is the latest pro-muggle establishment to suffer at the hands of the group known as the Death Eaters. Whilst in this case no lasting damage has been done the same can not be said for the small bookbinding firm Smyth & Son, binders of muggle and magical books, which was torched only a few days previous. The owner Mr Smyth and his family did not survive and it is thought they suffered torture by Unforgivable Curses before their death. The Ministry are urging all businesses to be extra vigilant in the next few days, particularly those with strong connections to the muggle world. Information packs can be requested by owl with instructions on how to construct protective wards.
As of yet no arrests have been made, however the van Hagens family have identified that there were two attackers, one male and one female, and it is thought that at least one of them suffered the full impact of the protective ward. Anyone with any information is urged to report it to the Auror office and the public are encouraged to be on the lookout for anyone acting suspiciously...
