At first glance the courtyard seemed to have been transformed into a replica of the innards of the Forbidden Forest. The stone pillars that typically rose out
of the ground into broad arches on the perimeter of the courtyard had been covered in a wild overgrowth of thick roots and ivy. Additional trees had been
places randomly in what was usual an open space, but the overall effect was more uncomfortable than cozy. Though the additional foliage provided plenty of
places for close conversations, and the eerie quiet was every once and a while punctuated by an unnerving scream or the simple snapping of a branch. The
lighting was sparse, keeping the temperature chilly in contrast to the body heat adding up in the Great Hall. Where there was a hovering pumpkin glowing, the
resulting light was shaky and created astounding shadows. However, if one was observant, they would notice that the stretched shadows were transforming into
various silhouettes and shapes without the help of something to cast them.
