Occupation: Accidental Magical Reversal Department and Hired Mercenary
Wand: Rigid, 9", Cedar with Dragon Heartstring core
Birthdate: October 30, 1958
Home: Dover, England - Cresthill Manor; keeps a flat in the SoHo area of London that his wife believes he has given up.
Physical Description:
Standing at 62, Justin surveys the world through a pair of light blue eyes that have been described, at times, as silvery-blue. These eyes are a Haddock trait and though not all Haddocks are so blessed, he is pleased to be such. He keeps his brown hair cut short more out of the ease of care than any other reason and has never been all that vain of it. He has a finely chiseled jaw line ending in a rather pointy chin and tends to keep a five-oclock shadow on his face unless the need calls for a clean-shaved look.
He has a well-built figure that is the work of hours of attention on his part. No morning passes without him taking a jog (even as a student at Hogwarts, he took a few laps about the lake before the day began) and has added a weight-training regimen to the cardiovascular. He is terribly vain about keeping his figure well-defined, but has no desire to grow muscles to ridiculous sizes. He simply remains well-defined and attractive.
He has a number of scars; many are almost invisible to the naked eye. He doesn't go to Healer's to get the wounds he receives in his line of work healed as he views the scars as penance for his sins. His worst scar to date is a knife slash that curves from the base of his right ribcage to just below his sternum.
In style of dress he disdains what it called casual wear and sticks to slacks, button-up shirts and wizarding robes. He does, of course, wear proper clothing and shoes for working out. He is a bit of a prima donna in his dressing, making sure that he never leaves for work (at least his day job) without having a coordinated outfit on, down to the right cufflinks and shoes. Despite his belief that he is more than capable of dressing himself, he does turn to his wife for advice when he is uncertain.
His other job his less than savory mercenary job involves the use of both wizarding clothing of the second-hand shop nature and, on occasions, that of Muggle-wear. This type of clothing is kept at his flat in SoHo and his wife is none-the-wiser.
Personality Description:
Complexities are found in every personality and this is no less true in Justins case. Temperamental to a high degree, one never can truly predict how he will react to anything. What angers him one-minute can, the next, have him pleased. In some regards, he wears his heart on his sleeve, though he has learned to keep that heart covered as he has aged. His strong emotions simmer just below the surface shown in the ticking jaw or the tense posture. But when it explodes above the surface it is often little more than bluffing. He uses the threat of physical violence to often gain his way, though the blow rarely falls as he is very much a coward beneath all the bravado. When he does strike, it is with his full force of emotion behind it and he can render much damage to another. It doesnt always take the physical blow to wound, for Justin has learned to cut and destroy with words just as well and has often used verbal strikes to take down another.
He learned such behavior from his governess who rarely let the blow fall, but used her presence and physical grips to maintain control over Justin as a child. The few times she did strike him have never been shared with another. As a child, he felt too ashamed and too unsure that his parents would take his side and thus he accepted his governesss temperament without question. Accepted and learned, for that matter.
This method of handling his emotions has not given him a broad base of friendships with any true substance. There is not one soul to whom he has shared everything, not even his wife. A sea of secrets, he feels incredibly alone in the world, unable to be vulnerable and let another help to ease his burdens. That he wooed and married Anjali was more him riding on his emotions and pushing things forward at a time when he was determined to make real and lasting change in his life. For a time, it seemed to calm the conflictions within him, but it took less than a year for him to run away from responsibilities.
Running away is what he has done since he was a kid. Facing down problems and working through them takes work and effort he is both unwilling to put forth and unconvinced he would even be able to do. In the past, running always seemed to fix things, at least enough that he neednt be bothered by whatever problem he may have caused. Hes discovering that such doesnt work with a wife; it is this that has him on emotional tenterhooks, raw and bleeding. Growth is never easy and to be faced with the inability to truly leave (for he loves his wife and his child) has proven to be very hard indeed.
Despite his conflicted emotions when it comes to those close to him, he is able to put on a respectable and charming face when in the presence of others whether at a social gala or his day job. He can be downright pleasant and carry on the most mundane of conversations without so much as a hint of irritation. He appears amenable to just about any request from a coworker or superior and applies himself with apparent aplomb to the tasks given him. In effect, he pulls himself back and keeps a wall up, allowing a superficial persona to take control when he could really care less what another has to say to him about anything. Chatting in La Diplomate at the Ministry over a cup of coffee or on assignment as he works to assist in the reversal of magic gone wrong, he is easy to get along with. He will even remember what another has said to him about their life and make a point to inquire over the others troubles whenever the opportunity presents itself.
His real job, his work for Lamont Hullings, is where he sheds that veneer of niceties. Were it not for that outlet, he may very well have been the sort to be found hung from a rope or overdosed on drugs. As a mercenary, he is able to soothe that anger he carries as he lashes out at those whom have wronged Lamont. Whether its a Muggle-style beating, a hex job or a murder, he completes his assignments with relative ease and keeps the scars of his work as his personal penance. Still, even in this underworld, he has no real friends. He is not fool enough to believe that there is any honour amongst thieves and those who work for Lamont or are sought after by Lamont are, for the most part, cutthroats and unfit for any sort of friendship.
Brief History
Born to Alexander Gergory and Rebecca Grace Haddock (of the pureblood Truss stock) in the fall of 1953, Justin was a very much doted upon child, having been the first boy on his mother's side of the family in over eight generations. His first years of life were relatively pleasant for a pureblood society brat, the overbearing treatment and instruction of his governess notwithstanding. He, along with his sister, older than him by three years, led a life of ease. When his brother, Timothy, was born in 1958, Justin fell immediately in thrall with him.
It wasn't until his sister left for her first year at Hogwarts, (her being sorted into the, at the time, Haddock family House, Ravenclaw), that his life began to change - or more importantly, he did. He began to fall in with the more pureblood proud crowd at galas. By the time he received his letter from Hogwarts, Justin was a firm believer in purity as the utmost importance in life. It was in that same year that the fact that his younger brother was a Squib came to the surface and, in that same year, Timothy disappeared from all social gatherings and circles, the boy being kept confined to Haddock property and kept in the west wing of the house when company appeared. Justin abhorred the treatment of his brother, but saw no recourse but to allow it.
Though his family has always been a supportive and caring place to be, Justin never had much use for it. As each year of his Hogwarts career progressed, he found more allies in the Slytherin house and distanced himself further from his family. By the time Georgiana graduated he had thoroughly cut the family cord only going home enough to keep his parents somewhat satisfied.
His last year at Hogwarts rent many changes in the young man. He met Anjali Sharma. Before meeting her, he had been accustomed to usury of women, most notably his long term, abusive affair with Paris Devereux. Anjali, however, baffled him. From her initiation of their first kiss to their shared grief over their betrothals to her utter kindness when he was in the hospital wing - even after he had almost struck her at the lake - he found her an enigma.
He fought, hard, to not allow himself to give into the insane desires his heart was feeling, but once she had seduced him - something he had never allowed a girl to do before - he couldn't deny his feelings. Not that he didn't try. When he graduated from Hogwarts, he was sure that his feelings for the witch would fade. They didn't.
Even as he threw himself deeper and deeper into the dark underworld that Lamont Hullings introduced him to, he couldn't seem to escape the memories of the green-eyed Ravenclaw. It was that which led him, at last, to arrive at her home in the middle of the night. Though they were both still betrothed to others, it was utterly impossible for them, for either of them, to square with their futures and, at last, they both broke the holds on them.
Over Christmas of 1976, they each met the others family and, before the end of the year, they were betrothed. Anjali left school, choosing to finish up her schooling under private tutorage, and their wedding was set for early June of 1977. Justin, however, was far too impatient and, on the night of March 15, 1977, he arrived in her home and convinced her to elope.
Once the marriage had been made legal (for they had long ago consummated the relationship), they began their life together in Dover at Cresthill Manor a fifteen bedroom estate which was a partial gift. Not even six months passed before Justin was running away, meeting and falling in lust with a young Muggle from the Hawaiian Islands. In a move that showed his utter stupidity, he left with her and spent nearly four months with her. That most of his time with the Hawaiian mistress were spent pining for his wife did little to send him home. At least not until he received a letter from Timothy which compounded his own guilt. He returned home only to discover that his wife had been seduced by a man named Richard. In true Haddock style, he lashed out at her ignoring that hed been doing the same to her.
When she let him know she was pregnant (and assured it was his), his tender feelings for his wife surfaced and he worked, hard, to make up for his inadequacies. He got himself a respectable job (not that Anjali knew of his night job) and worked hard at every turn to become the ideal society husband. It never really did take, though. And only months after the birth of their daughter, Lana, he was heading back to Hawaii to witness the birth of his illegitimate twin sons, Ethan and Ryan. This time, when he returned, he found his wife had left him. Not only that, but that his daughter was now being raised by his in-laws. Using the excuse of his love for Lana (for he couldnt seem to admit to either Anjali or himself that he desperately needed his wife) he forced the issue and the new family moved back into Cresthill, this time with Anjalis mother. It was the only way Mrs. Sharma would willing give back their child.
For months, Justin ached to give himself to Anjali, but was convinced that she would never accept his apology or even him. But sleeping in the same bed and being forced to appear the happy couple before Mrs. Sharma finally broke the wall and though he has not been able to express himself fully or even been able to open himself up to his wife, they have begun to make headway.
Important Relationships:
Timothy Haddock: His younger brother. A Squib. He loves his brother beyond any other - even Anjali. There is nothing he would not do to see Timothy smile. He despises how his parents kept him locked away and out of sight. When Anjali brought him to live with them, he was at first angered but has been grateful for it since.
Anjali Sharma: Since he first caught sight of the fifth year over the course of the summer he's been steadily working to woo her - at least that was his first intention. However the witch seems to frustrate him in a way that he can't describe and has, as a result, caused him no little amount of anger and even a touch of guilt. As seventh year progressed, he fell in love with the witch. They wed on March 15, 1977.
Paris Devereux: Ever since Justin first seduced Paris in the middle of sixth year it's been a love/hate relationship on his end. At times he wishes that the other would just die, and yet he still uses her for his own purposes when he so chooses - and she lets him.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Justin's strengths lie in his ability to use words to get other's guards down. He can also cook like nobody's business. His weakness lies in that he doesn't know how to truly form deep relationships with anyone. He only makes friends to further his own interests.
Likes/Dislikes:

Roleplay Sample: *snickers* Right. Hah. Deleted that. *glowers at the horrid, horrid sample*

Sex and Justin:
Ares - God of War.
You crave power and you value strength. However, you do not restrict these qualities to the battlefield. You bring your need for control into the bedroom. When behind closed doors, you quickly drop the game playing -- and your trousers. You love women, and you like to feel worshipped by the ladies you choose to seduce. Comfortable with traditional gender roles, you like to be on top and call all the shots. Although sexually aggressive and strong, you make sure that the women you conquer are also fulfilled and satisfied. Your performance has been perfected through time and practice, and you are always ready to hit the sheets and strut your stuff! You leave a trail of satisfied mortals in your wake.
