Occupation: Field Agent, Auror Division
Birthday: January 3, 1943
Wand: Inflexible, 14 inches, Oak with Phoenix tail core
Pet: Rocky, his ball python
Physical Description: Leathan keeps his hair buzzed close to the head not in deference to any particular fashion statement but rather because it is conveinent. He spends hours running and working out each week giving his 6'2" frame well-defined muscles, though it is not out of vanity for him but rather so that he can be faster, stronger and better than the enemy. He carries himself with a confidence instilled into him by his parents and further cultivated by his years both in Hogwarts and as an Auror.
His hazel eyes carry a hint of laughter in them often enough that he is considered to be rather laid back, but they can turn as hard as amber in a heartbeat when he is crossed. He also a tattoo of a Celtic knot on his upper left shoulder about the size of his hand.
Though he gets more than enough looks from the ladies (and even the occasional bloke) he doesn't always get what the fuss is all about. Oh sure, he knows he's got an incredible smile and he's certainly no slouch in the physique department, but he - like his brother - has issues with his ears. He also has always rather thought his features were too severe, too harsh; his nose, slightly crooked, is too long as well. His toes are another thing he really just can't stand, though he does wander about barefooted and in flip-flops often enough; he keeps his legs covered in jeans - they always seemed a bit too scrawny to him.
Personality Description: Charming and nice to a fault in most instances, Leathan tends to get along with everyone on principle. In his line of work that comes in handy. However, there is an edge to him that gets him into plenty of trouble with his superiors more often that not as he has loose ethics. The ends justify the means is more than a motto for him; it's a lifestyle.
As far as it comes to working with his peers, he understands the importance of team work and never shirks his responsibilities to others - even if it may appear that he does at times (again, the ends justifying the means).
His loyalty to those he cares for, respects or, in some cases, tolerates, is unprecedented. Often this leads others to thinking that their is a deeper connection with him than he feels there is. Being on his bad side, however, is not advisable as his loose ethics lead him to do questionable things.
In regards to women, he is always the gentleman never pushing his advantage and, in fact, always doing what he can to not push his advantage. He knows he's good-looking - plenty of females, and even a fair amount of males, have told him so - and where other blokes would use that to get their way with any number of women, Leathan considers himself to have far more depth than that. Relationships with women are few and far between as he gives his all into a relationship before things carry much further than a kiss; he is not one to idly sleep about or even kiss about.
Brief History:
Pre-1975
Leathan Collier was born to a pureblood father, Rigel Collier, and a Muggle mother, Jamie Collier, in Swords, Ireland (a small town on the outskirts of Dublin) on a rare sunny afternoon in January of 1943. From the time he was old enough to walk, his father was sure that the boy would follow his footsteps to his Alma Mater of Hogwarts and he was correct.
In 1954, Leathan entered into the halls of Hogwarts being sorted into Gryffindor, though the hat wavered on the egde of placing him into Hufflepuff; the boy's raw courage impressed the hat, however. It was this same year that his younger brother, Thierry Collier was born. During holidays and summers, Leathan doted on the new edition to the family.
In his fifth year the new Gryffindor Prefect met, and fell in love with, Sarah Preston - a Ravenclaw. After six months and much wooing, begging and outright demanding, he scored his first date with the petite burnette. From there the two climbed aboard a rollercoaster of emotions, though the highs were good enough to keep the lows from getting to them. He asked her to marry him during a Hogsmeade weekend in December of 1960 - their seventh year. She accepted the Head Boy's proposal and the two were blissfully happy - until the worst happened.
Her parents, in a bid for both power and money, pulled their daughter out of school and married her off to a man twice her age. Leathan never saw her again, though he tried. By the time he graduated from Auror training, he'd learned not only the name of the man she'd married but where he lived, the name of all his family members and even the names of a few of his buisness associates.
He went after her. That turned out to be a mistake that, to this day, he regrets. Only days after he showed up on the doorstep of her new home, she disappeared. The circumstances were mysterious and, even now, years later, he is positive that she was murdered. Using his position as an Auror, he had continually searched for clues.
Post-1975
Summer Kempton, a Southern Belle import from the states, was relocated to the UK and joined up with the Aurors in the early 70's. It didn't take long for Leathan and her to strike up quite the friendship and for the first time in a long time Leathan started to find his affections for Sarah coming under an attack. He found himself opening up more and more to Summer about his Sarah and, the more he shared, the more he found himself attracted to his fellow Auror. In fact, he was quickly falling in love with her.
And then tragedy struck. A student from Hogwarts, Mnemosyne Brown, was kidnapped by Death Eaters. He and Summer were part of the team that went to the rescue. She was killed by a shard of glass which cut too deeply in the wrong spot of her neck; he's never quite yet recovered from it. However, on the tail end of that, a new woman moved into the flat complex he lives in: Charlotte Dupree. She intrigued him from the first and once it was determined that she was a staunch Manchester United fan (him being a staunch Liverpool supporter) their friendship was sealed.
It took a little longer for him to start to realize that what Summer had thawed had begun to beat for the younger witch he'd met. But beat for, his heart had begun to do. Despite the troubles they had - including some rather messy moments with his fellow Auror Elphasis Haddock - he was sure they would overcome things. However, in the last part of 1977, he has seen less and less of her and has begun to put more of his focus on his career, even considering the option of leaving the Ministry to become a Private Investiagator.
Important Relationships:
Thierry Collier: Eleven years Thierry's senior, there was no hard and fast hope that the two would ever be more than polite relatives, but Leathan had wanted a brother for so long that upon Thierry's birth, he was a bundle of eleven-year-old nerves. He doted upon his brother to almost the point of obsession and, when he finally graduated from Hogwarts, he and the younger Collier were close brothers. Getting into Lux and starting on his career path, he took great pleasure in starting to teach his brother how to fight, though he never let Thierry win; not even when he was seven. Rather, he taught the younger boy by teaching him what he did wrong and thus, when Thierry finally did manage to pin him (when Thierry was thirteen), it had been a well-won win.
He loved, and still does love, his brother with a physical sort of violence as brothers are wont to do. During summers, he would often have Thierry come and stay with him for a weekend and, as the young lad grew older, for a week. It didn't surprise him in the least when Thierry ended up in chasing the dream of becoming a rock star, though he does get weary of the requests for loans; he's never said no, but then he's never gotten a quid back. Still, he's got a soft heart for the lad, despite his quickness in smacking him upside the head or getting him into a headlock.
Summer Kempton: The dark haired beauty and he forged a friendship on mutual pain - his the pain of his memory of Sarah, she the recent loss of her husband. The two of them grew steadily closer until she was killed in the rescue of Nemo Brown in January of 1976. She was the second woman he had ever loved.
Charlotte Dupree: He met the witch as she moved into Lowell Flats - or more like he irritated the witch. Still, over the common rivalry of supporting two different football teams (he Liverpool, she ManU) and a mutual attraction that took them each a long enough time to admit, they have begun to date. Though, now, things between them are very much up in the air.
Jakob Calloway: A friend from his school days. The two men frequently meet up for drinks to catch up with each other and to bounce the most random of thoughts off the other. It's a comfortable friendship and one that they both know they can count on.
Josh Cloud: Best friend since forever. Or at least since his first day on the train to Hogwarts. There is little that the wizards do not know about each other and little they would not do for the other.
Dorcas Meadowes: His best girl friend. Though in Hogwarts days he viewed her with a bit of suspiscion because of her placement in Slytherin, through their training at Lux and their work as Aurors, he has grown to depend upon her to a degree that at times can seem frightening to him. She is his confidante for all things work-related and even, to a fair extent, in terms of his dating life. She is always bluntly honest with him and though it irritates him at times, he would never want for her to sugarcoat the truth for his sake.
Luann Browning: He knew the witch, vaguely, during his years at Hogwarts; it wasn't until a few years back (1976) that he really got to know more about her when he started his stints at Hogwarts as security. They began dating in May of '78; right now, he's still getting to know her and taking it slow. Maybe too slow for her own tastes.
Jezebel Bain: He met the witch in the summer of '76 when she interned under Elphais Haddock. Her tough exterior always has intrigued him and now, this summer, she is interning under him. He has begun to develop a friendship with the young graduate and hopes that he can continue to mentor her through her formative years at Lux.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Leathan is highly self-sufficient. He can't abide letting anyone take care of him and despises helplessness in others. He is loyal, though to a fault at times. Often he appears to be aloof, though it isn't meant to make anyone feel bad, though it often does.
Likes: food - any food, thankyouverymuch; girls who wear their hair up; sugar cookies; snakes (he has a ball python that is currently at ten feet in length); sunrises; perfect spider webs; playing card games; playing his guitar; Liverpool Football Club.
Dislikes: laziness; losing to the 'bad' guy; losing anything, really (he's a poor sport); the color pink; whining; helplessness.

And I shall stay alive because you wanted me to be, above all things, untameable.
I'm coming to find you if it takes me all night; and I won't forget you, at least I'll try.
I could never change just what I feel...
My eyes could never, never keep their cool...

Walking in a straight line
Set me on fire in the evening
Everything will be fine
