Physical Description: Sydney never feels much out of place in any group and views the world through deep brown eyes that seem to always be amused with one thing or another. A smile comes easily to her face in most instances and she uses it often to get her way with many a bloke.
Since a young age she has kept her dark brown hair chopped short, finding that it was far easier to do so when it came to being raised with eight boys. Afterall, if one couldn't be ready to walk out the door in a moments notice, they were likely to be left behind.
Her figure, much to her dismay, still has not acquired the curves and form that she feels, at 18, a female body should and she tends to be rather slim, though not for lack of food for she can, and often does, eat like a horse. Her father has often told her that her mum was the same way.
Though definately a female, she can tend to be almost masculine in many of her mannerisms if she doesn't give it some conscious thought. This is due to growing up with her all boy cousins; she often tried to mimic them in order to be more like them.
Personality: Sydney is a very sweet and charming girl, always with a word of cheer for her loved ones and, often times, even for those she doesn't really get along with. She finds it hard to not smile on most occasions. She's a hard worker when it comes to things she finds interesting - namely potions. Getting along with others and having others get along around her is of extreme importance to her. In her family she was often teased for her peace-keeping attempts (no mean feat with eight older boys around her).
There is nothing she enjoys more than being around others, the flip side of that is that she can't be alone. It's not just that she prefers to not be alone, she can't be alone. In light of that, she can become a touch annoying if she's not careful for unlike others she doesn't study alone, eat alone, walk alone or even visit the restroom alone. She has, through her years at Hogwarts, learned to enjoy some time alone, though she still vastly prefers to be with others.
Beauty is terribly important to her in all it's aspects and can be seen in both how she puts herself together - even when she is casual it's a more refined casual, even if it's a pair of jeans and a t-shirt - and in the things, and at times people, she surrounds herself with. Her area in the dorms is almost always neat as a pin (one of the few areas she doesn't let herself become lazy in) and every item she displays has an inherent, and often unique, beauty to it.
Sydney's loyalty and interest will remain constant in any relationship that is based on fairness, honesty and justice. But she is prone to become deeply hurt and disappointed if the other person takes any but the high road with her, she seeing it as a direct cut against her personally. Still, as much as she values loyaltly, she cannot handle it when someone becomes overly emotionally possessive of her and would, like as not, simply cut off all ties with a person who did such. Permanently.
Brief History: Born on a chilly night at the end of a long and difficult pregnancy, Sydney was welcomed into the very weary arms of her mother and sheltered in that love for mere hours before, with a tear stained face, her father removed her from the still body of his dear wife.
Unable to care for an infant, and unable to move on past his grief at the loss of his beloved wife, Benjamin Waverly gave his hours old daughter to his sister, Tiffany Bentfield, to raise reasoning that since his sister had eight children, including a sixth month old, she knew what she was doing.
And thus, Sydney's first real memories are those of much noise and the need to fight for anything that you may want. Not that being raised with her cousins was difficult as she didn't know anything else, nor was ever treated as anything but a full member of the family, viewing her aunt as her own mum and her uncle as her father. Still, with nine children in the house, the eldest twelve years older than Sydney, the youngest a mere few months, very little was ever considered as being owned by one person.
It instilled, in the young girl, a need to have things that belonged to only her. To have time that belonged to only her; space that belonged to only her.
She was not forgotten by her father. He spent as much time as his job would allow with the family, even moving into a renovated shed in the backyard. When Sydney turned five, he purchased a small, two bedroom house a few miles outside of London where he would take the young girl on weekends and during summers. Those were, for Sydney, the most precious times of her young life.
The summer before her eleventh birthday she recieved her letter from Hogwarts. It was then that her father sat her down and told her about her mum being a witch. She was enthralled and when it came time to leave for Hogwarts, she went with the hope of learning about this world her mum had been born and raised in. She was sorted into Hufflepuff and, after a few false starts on her part, she began to forge friendships that she hopes will last for a lifetime.
Her years at Hogwarts passed swiftly and the girl went through all the usual rights of passage that any normal individual does. However, she has faced many hard moments in her young life due to the state of war in the wizarding world. She has lost a few friends and, on her last train trip from Hogwarts, she was faced by Inferi and the very real fear of death.
Having survived that, she managed, through a connection one of her older cousins had, to land a job at Euphoria as a hostess. Not her dream job by any means, but most certainly a job that she isn't likely to scoff at as the owner of the club does treat employees fairly. She has also recently moved in with her old school chum Anjali Haddock and Anjali's brother in law, Timothy.
Important Relationships:
Father| Benjamin Waverly: Her everything. She loves her father and has a very close relationship with him. In many ways she views him more as a friend than as a father as she was raised more by her uncle.
Friend| Amos Diggory: She at first found him to be a swaggering braggart. She has since come to terms with the truth that he is such, but she has learned to love that part of him as much as she loves the rest of him. During the latter half of their seventh year, they began to date (it was to him she lost her virginity) and the two had a wild few months. After school got out, however, they found that though they still cared for and loved each other deeply, it really wasn't working for them and they broke up on amicable terms.
Friend| Caleb Quigley: She has always loved the somewhat out of it boy.
Friend| Benji Summers:
Friend| Luke Price:
Friend| Evie Worthing:
Friend| Anjali Haddock:
Friend| Pammy Haywood:
