Occupation: On Trial with Appleby Arrows
Wand: Flexible, 9 inches, Alder with Unicorn Tail Hair core.
Bloodline: Pureblood as far as is known
Birthday: April 1, 1960
Pet/Familiar: A male tabby striped cat with a pure white tail. Oh, and lets not forget a huge chunk missing from its left ear, a scar that runs from that ear all the way to the tip of his nose interrupted midway by a black eye patch to cover the gaping hole from the missing eye, and a wooden peg in place of his right front leg. Luke adores him, though; he calls it Ugly. He got the cat the summer before he left for Hogwarts at a rescue shelter when the cat was about three.
Physical Description: From the time that Luke was born, he has always been a bit on the small side; at birth he weighed in at just six pounds. That small stature stuck with him through life and now, at age seventeen, he stands at five foot five inches and has since he was fifteen. His father keeps telling him that hell shoot up any day now. Luke truly hopes for it, but doubts it. It is because of this shortness of stature that he tends to walk with a larger than life swagger and speak with a louder than needed voice, his light blue eyes taking in every detail in his presence. Almost as if hes afraid that he might be missed in a crowd. Not that he ever has been.
He takes care of his appearance, though he spends as little time in front of the mirror as possible. Only long enough to make sure that his short brown hair is brushed just so and to scrub his face to keep it clean of the pimples that often, irritatingly, pepper across his forehead and over his chin.
Sporting a beard, Luke now finds that he must spend a few more moments before the mirror on a daily basis to keep the slow growing whiskers neat and orderly. He still keeps his hair short. As for the pimples, though he seems to be outgrowing them, he still does find them popping up often enough to be irritating.
He has never found himself all that attractive. He despises the mass amount of freckles that are peppered about his face and thinks he has very sticky-outie ears. His neck is thick, something he inherited from his father. He does have rather nice teeth, though. When he smiles and laughs, which is often, his entire face lights up.
When not in his Hogwarts robes, Luke enjoys wearing Muggle jeans and t-shirts of Wizarding bands. He has not been, nor can ever see himself, a fan of ties and slacks and the like. His uniform tie is generally too loose and he's been told a few hundred times a day (from his point of view) to fix it. Nowadays one can find Luke generally in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt when he's not dressed in a set of basic wizarding robes. He wears wizarding robes pretty much just to blend in with the wizarding world if he's about Diagon or such.
Personality Description: On the surface Luke is the nice guy; the bloke that everyone feels comfortable sharing their deepest, darkest secrets with. Something about his boyish charm and features seems to inspire such need to open up. And, for those he considers the deepest of friends, he is open to just such an arrangement. However, the problem resides when the boy opens his mouth. Its not so much what he says, for he doesnt have a harsh word about him unless you count those moments of scathing sarcasm. Or if you count his propensity to be as blunt as his unfiltered words tend to allow him to be. But, really, hes not such a bad bloke.
A touch scatterbrained, he tends to get highly involved in an idea only to drop it before he gets to the completion point of it; this isnt such a great thing when it comes to projects and the like for his classes. As for his own ambitions in life, he doesnt consider his inability to complete things a handicap. In fact, he sees it as a plus. A huge plus. In his own words: I have the gift of never getting stuck in a rut.
His father and step-mother arent so convinced, but then he puts very little stock in what they, or anyone else, may think of his own thoughts and choices. And yet, he has his own very strong opinions about what others may do with their own lives. He doesnt quite see the problem with that.
Hes a rather even-tempered bloke most of the time and yet, like most, he can lose his temper. When he does, step back. Better yet, just leave. Its not so much his fists that must be watched though he can certainly pack a wallop when he has the need. However, its his words that one must watch. Hell explode in a vomit of words that will later be much regretted by him and can, at times, send him into a state of near depression until he apologizes to the person he yelled at.
In relation to those in authority over him, he doesnt hold any rancor towards them; he tends to get that they are in a position that he might hope to hold someday and thus he tries to give them respect. And yet, that comes across often with him thinking more of himself than he perhaps ought when he is in class. Hes the kid who never remembers to raise his hand and who always believes that he has the most important thing to say.
Brief History: Jonas Luke Price Jonas after his mums father - was brought into the world on April 1, 1960 seven years to the day after his older sister, Plum, was born. He was a very happy and bubbly child, though he had his temper and that often caused things about him to explode. Little did that youngster know that his tempers werent simply causing objects about him to be destroyed but were, bit by bit, destroying the hopes of his family remaining intact.
Just before he was to turn seven and his sister, who he adored, was to turn 14, things in his life changed. For the last three years though to his knowledge, forever tension had risen to an almost unbelievable level between his parents. And then, on that March morning hed been taken out of his bed and hours later, he found himself in the harbor city of Liverpool living in a small wizarding neighborhood. For the first few months he cried, often, for his mum and sister, but his father only would tell him that they werent around and that he needed to keep a stiff upper lip. He did. It was about this same time that his father started to call the young boy by his middle name, Luke, as his first name was that of his mothers father.
He was eight when he met the woman his father had met. And, when he was nine, his father got married to Rozelin Dinsdale, a witch of rather independent means. He fought against her inclusion into his life for the first year, but she was never anything but kind to the young Jonas. In time the memory of his real mother and his sister became more along the lines of vague recollections of a distant time and place. That his father never made mention of either of them, ever, only added to the idea that maybe it was something hed made up in his head.
In 1970, his younger brother, Alistair was born and that hole that he had felt in his heart was filled with laughter and the chubby antics of the youngster. A year later, Luke received his letter to Hogwarts. Sorted into Hufflepuff, he found that school was a very enjoyable place. It was made even better when his best mate, Amos Diggory, was sorted into the same house.
By the time that he was in his third year, he and Amos had met and become friends with two blokes a year below them: Caleb and Benji. It was Benji who got the lad, at fourteen, to pick up smoking, Amos putting in his own two cents on just how to smoke like a proper young lad. Now he takes up a smoking break as often as he can find one. At some point the four lads began to refer to themselves at the Golden Gods and, as they reach their last year as a foursome, Luke feels a touch of sorrow beginning to creep up on him.
1977-1978 Term
The term was a most interesting and emotional one for Luke. His friendships remained as strong as ever, though he did gain a tried and true enemy in Jordon Kollmann. He also gained his first serious girlfriend in Michelle Darling.
Their relationship defined much of Luke's last year and though he still remained a loyal and hotheaded member of the Quidditch team and still drank and frittered away hours of time with the Golden Gods, he also etched much time into his days for Michelle. He is the first girl he ever said I love you to (when not pissed off his arse) and the first girl he ever cared enough about to attempt to change some of his coarser ways.
By the end of his seventh year, the idea of leaving behind Michelle hurt him nearly as much as the idea of never playing on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team again.
His enemy, Jordon, was wrapped up in the whole of his relationship with Michelle. The younger Ravenclaw had his eyes on the Hufflepuff commentator just as much as Luke did and pursued her on his own terms. Luke, however, responded to the pursuit with fisticuffs and scare tactics. He is well glad to be rid of the berk.
In Quidditch related news, the Hufflepuffs lost the Quidditch Cup, though they won the House Cup. In Luke's eyes, the loss of the Quidditch Cup really was a bigger blow.
Now, out of school, the lad is struggling to find himself a job and a place in the world.
Important Relationships:
Aaron Price: His father. He gets along well with his father though hes not particularly close to him.
Rozelin Price: Lukes stepmom but the only mom he remembers. He feels a little distant from her and feels that there is something not quite right. Still, he loves her.
Alistair Price: Lukes stepbrother. He adores him and is a bit sad that he wont be at Hogwarts when the young lad comes up.
Matilda Price: His real mum however, he doesnt quite remember him. Its more vague images of a pretty woman who rocked him to sleep and kissed his boo-boos. Sometimes, when he sleeps, he sees very clear images of her, but by the time he wakes, it again feels like a hazy fog. He doesnt know her name, either.
Plum Price: He recieved a letter from her in late October of '78 asking if they could meet. They did and though he was at first uncertain about who she claimed to be, he has since become quite pleased to have a sister. He plans to become flatmates with her in London when he graduates.
Gifts received: Birthday - '78, a game winning Quaffle signed by the whole of the Arrows team (Josh helped her get it)
Amos Diggory: His very best mate in the world. The two met when in Liverpool a few months after Luke had moved there. Unwittingly, the boy took the place of his sister in a way that the young lad wasnt aware of. Luke tends to look up (yeahphysically, too) to the other and theres very little that he doesnt feel comfortable sharing.
Michelle Darling: His first serious girlfriend. He met her purely by chance at the Halloween Masque and isn't entirely convinced he'd have ever noticed her had they not met there. He's been falling steadily for her ever since.
What he likes about her: he loves her innocence; finds her incredibly funny; loves her tummy
Gifts exchanged: Christmas '77 - got a Muggle stopwatch thing from her; Birthday '78 - got an Arrows wrist-watch
Caleb Quigley: One of the four 'Golden Gods'. He finds Caleb's sense of humor and his oddities amusing and enjoys hanging about the bloke.
Benji Summers: Another of the 'Golden Gods'. Benji taught him to smoke and the two have shared many a secret under the Quidditch bleachers in their time.
Jordon Kollmann: He hates the bugger. It began as a bit of jealousy between the two boys but has grown exponentially beyond that.
Atheer Valente: A friend of his sister. He is terribly jealous of the easy, almost brotherly, affection that the older man shares with Plum but has, at the same time, a bit of hero worship attraction for the man.
Likes: Baked potatoes smothered in cheese and butter; his cat, Ugly; Quidditch; girls; the smell of strawberries; the smell of strawberries on girls; lazy afternoons by the lake; horsing around with his friends; smoking.
Dislikes: Studying; sausage; Puddlemere United; phony people.
Loyalties - Personal and Family: Lukes father and step-mum, while purebloods, arent purebloodists. Though they live in a Wizarding neighborhood in Liverpool, its more out of the convenience of not needing to worry about what the neighbors may accidentally see. However, they do tend to view Muggles with a touch of disdain. Luke, on the other hand, has no issues with Muggles but then, he grew up playing with them in the streets.

In the Words of Others
For he was young indeed, not merely in age which was often meaningless in the greater scheme of things, but also in experience, in wisdom, and in perception. He spoke and behaved much like a boy in the middle of his schooling would, with impetuous self-regard, a laughable extent of self-importance, and a grasp of the world that was more tragic than it was amusing. He had no real conception of the cruelties or the beauties that made life hold more dimension than it did within the school of Hogwarts, no understanding of just what it meant to have endured hardship and overcome it while still accepting ones limitations.
He was nave enough to think that the worst fate for one would be to have studied at Durmstrang, or to a more vivid account, to have been sorted into Slytherin.

His Past Sexual History - Not Including Michelle
"Skinny Rita Wellington back in Liverpool, she was my first mate. Right scarecrow of a bird, but sweet and all. She's a year older than me, but she'd been eyen' me quite a bit. This was two summers back," he added, looking over at his mate. "Thing was, we was both bloody pissed off our arses when we went for it. I remember a lot of fumbling about and thinking that she was gonna break if I did anything to her," he gave a laugh remembering that. "But it was awright."
It had been over in two minutes, as well. Benji didn't need to know that particular detail.
"This past summer, that was better. Weren't so drunk, but just a bit buzzed. This girl, Pinky - all the blokes knew her, really - but she's a right custy bird. The sort that makes you stand up and take notice when she walks by, if you know what I'm saying," he said. "Some birthday party for someone, I think it were. She was all over me. We ended up in a bedroom and, she's had a bit of blokes in her. Enough that she taught me a few things." He paused and looked over at his mate, a grin tugging at his right cheek.
"She screamed. Like a goddamn fucking teakettle! Like as near broke my eardrums. Oh, and," he grinned a bit more, "the bird left some tasty looking claw marks on me chest." They had, though, hurt like bloody hell when she'd clawed him.
