Birthday: June 13, 1951 Physical Description: Tall and elegant, Bellatrix has the look of the pureblood aristocrat about her. Dark hair, which she keeps charmed to shimmer, cascades in seductive waves down her back. Her dark, heavy-lidded eyes are nearly always lined in kohl and her lips stained in red; a sharp contrast to her pale skin. She knows she is a beauty and takes great pride in showing off her body wearing cuts in her robe styles which her mum does not find ladylike. However, Bellatrix has never much cared for being ladylike but rather has sought power. It is for this reason, and this reason alone, that she has kept her figure trim and has used any number of potions and charms to add to the natural beauty she is. As a child she was jealous of Narcissa's soft, lighter beauty; she has long since come to the belief that her own darker beauty is a far better asset. She carries herself with a haughty arrogance that is born of her place in the ranks of Lord Voldemort's inner circle. Despite what others within that circle may feel about her, she claims to be the most faithful and it is only for the Dark Lord that she will bow the knee and lose that arrogant veneer. Personality Description: Cold, cruel and detatched are words that most would not hesitate to use when speaking of Bellatrix. Those are the traits she most clings to for those are the traits which have allowed her to have the power she has always longed for and those which allow her to remain in her Dark Lord's favor. However, those are not the only traits which define her - though she wouldn't be displeased if they were. Brief History: Must discuss with the other Black sisters. Important Relationships: To be determined in detail later. Sirius Black, Andromeda Black, Narcissa Black, Rodolphus Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange. Mother - Druella Rosier Black Father - Cygnus Black Strengths/Weaknesses: Bellatrix knows precisely what she wants in life and has the drive to go after it no matter what bridges she must burn or who she must step over to get there. She would state that she does not have any weaknesses - and that would be her weakness. Deep down she is a coward. It's this precise reason why she pulls such a cold cloak about her. Likes/Dislikes: She has a secret weakness for kittens - however she routinely sneers at them when in the prescence of others. She enjoys belittling others and she has a love of any and every curse banned by the MoM - in particular she loves the Cruciatus Curse and has been known to practice it's use on animals. She dislikes Sirius deeply - and is beginning to find reason to dislike her own sister, Andromeda. She despises men who attempt to 'put her in her place' and can't abide romantic gestures. If yes, who were you closest to and why? How did you interact with each? If no, who raised you and how has this affected who you are today? I was raised by both parents but I've always been closest to my father. He never put restrictions of any kind on me allowing me to make my own choices through most of my life. I think he always wished that I'd been a boy, and treated me in such a manner. My mum, on the other hand, has always frowned at me. My first memory is of her frowning at me and telling me 'no'. Only recently has my father begun to frown at me for various infractions, which is irritating. If he hadn't wanted me to voice my own opinions, then he never should have allowed me to in the first place. 2) What do your parents do for a living? Do they expect you to follow the same path? Is this what you want to do? What would you rather do? Do they support your choices? My father is an Ambassador to Bulgaria for the Ministry of Magic. My mother is a socialite and wastes her days gossiping over tea and crumpets, embroidery, and the obligatory charity work. She does it all with a sacchrine smile that makes me ill. I'm expected to marry, pop out babies and follow my mother's footsteps. That is the last thing I want. What I want is power. Power over men. Power over women. I want for people to hear my name and feel the small hairs on the backs of their necks stand on end. 3) Parental support and approval is an important key to self-esteem, or lack thereof. How much support and approval do you recieve? It is of a good nature (ie - supporting you to make the right choices even if it's not popular) or of a dodgy nature (ie - encouraging you to do what must be done to keep yourself on top)? How has this affected you? My father has supported and approved of me in just about every endeavour of my life. He has told me, out of my mother's ear shot, time and again that I should never accept my place in life, but I should grasp it. I intend to do just that. He has made me strong and confidant. My mother, however, has frowned upon my every choice from the classes I took in school, to the clothing I choose to wear, to the books I read and friends I have. She is a critical, bitter woman always nitpicking everything about me. I've lost count of how many times she has told me that I'm a disappointment to her. I'm glad I am. I'd rather be a disappointment than some mealy-mouthed female like my sisters. 4) No matter how wonderful ones parents are, teenagers and parents fight. Even adult children fight with their folks. What sort of things do you and your parents fight about all the time? Do you fight often, or rarely? I don't think you could call what my mum and I do fighting. It would be more along the lines of a silent battle of wills and cold looks. My father and I, though, will have it out from time to time. Typically over the issue of my behavior towards mum. 5) Grandparents can often be an important factor in a life. Are your grandparents still alive? How much of an influence do they exert on your life? On your parents' life? They are dead. 6) How many siblings do you have? Older? Younger? How do you get along with each? Is there any significant rivalry with any of them? Do your parents favor (or appear to favor) one over the other? How do the dynamics of your siblings affect you? I have two siblings, Andromeda and Narcissa. Andromeda is a very sweet girl and if I had to choose a favorite, it would be her. Although she does precisely as mother instructs, there is a strength I can sense in her that is absent in my younger sister. It's a strength that I envy. Narcissa, however, is nothing more than a minature version of our mother. She carries herself in the same manner and even frowns at me in the same way as mum does. If there is anything I envy about her it is that she will be bedded by Malfoy. 7) Are you married? If yes, when did you get married? Was it arranged or not? If no, are you betrothed or engaged? Was it arranged or not? How has this affected your life? Was there someone else you'd rather be with? I am betrothed to Rodolphus Lestrange. I suppose in some respects I'm fortunate. He's a man of independent means and he is a fine looking specimen. However, he is intolerable. He is domineering. If he thinks he's laying one finger on me, he's sorely mistaken.

What would their boggart be? What is the reason for this? She would be loathe to admit it, but her greatest fear is that she will never be truly loved. She wraps a cold cloak of uncaring about her to protect her from being hurt but she wants for someone to pull it from her. This is because she has never believed her mother to really love her. E: Mirror of Erised - What does your character desire most in this world? Why is that? Are they aware that this is what they most want or would they be surprised by this? Power. It's what she wants. It's what she would expect to see. The truth would likely kill her with the shock. She desperately wants to be loved and accepted by her mother and not because she kowtows to the image her mother has for her but she wants for her mother to love her for who she is - her faults and all. D: Dementor - What would they relive under a Dementor's gaze? Their worst memory. How does this affect them today, if it does? When she was six Bella found a nest of kittens under the back porch of their home. For a week she went outside under the watchful gaze of House Elfs and watched the kittens learn to walk and listened to their mews. She had begun to name the darling creatures when her father saw them. Without a word, he took out his wand and killed the creatures, muttering something about flea bags before he directed for a House Elf to remove the creatures. It was the first time that the young girl had seen outright cruelty and, in the depths of her soul, she still aches when she recalls that day. P: Patronus - What would protect them? Remember, this should be an animal. Her patronus would take the form of a puma. The grace, speed, power and stealth of the puma mirror much of the qualities of Bellatrix. The puma is extremely quiet during it's hunt and knows how to become invisible in an instant.

The ones on the positive side that have 8, 9, or 10, however, are not qualities that she uses for positive reasons, but rather ones she uses for negative reasons. 4) What has this taught you about your character? Bella is a very vindictive, negative person. I think I suspected this would be the case, but I must admit I'm surprised at just how negative she is and even more so that the positive qualities she has are used only for evil.
